Default Beginner Ride: Marshall Cyn-->CWP --> ?

Are you slow? Does Epic_Mtn_Biker scare you with his killer rides? Are you out of shape? Or old? Did you finish dead last in the NORBA XC race? Then this ride is for you.

When: Saturday, May 20th, 8am
Where: Marshall Canyon in LaVerne
Meet: @ Oak Mesa Park 4800 Wheeler Avenue, La Verne

here's a map

We'll ride to the trail head and start up. We'll take it easy and go whichever way seems like a good idea. My plan is to go up Marshall Canyon to Claremont Wilderness Park and then maybe up to Potato Mtn (slooowly). Or, we can circle around, go back into Marshall, climb and descend some singletrack, depending on what people want to do. Personally, I'd like to summit Potato Mtn. and see how I feel this time. But, I'm open to suggestions.

I'll be there by 8 a.m. We will probably wait 10 or 15 minutes past that before leaving.

The trail is largely fireroad although there is some singletrack that occassionally is technical. We can always walk whatever we can't ride. Bring water, snacks and sunscreen. The fireroads are exposed to the sun. It's a good ride. You can do it!

Hope to see you there.

Don't you feel sick? I hear there's a cold going around. My son had an ear infection. Maybe you have an ear infection that can only be cured by riding your bike.

I'm not a doctor, though. I could be wrong.

Incycle's a great bike shop, Frozen. Rent a couple bikes and get an idea of what you like. Or, just buy the first one that looks pretty. That's what I did. Either way, go to Incycle and ask for dirttorpedo!

Oh, and you'd rather volunteer to work at some Cancer research fundraiser than go biking? Man, I question your priorities. I mean, selfless volunteerism over just having fun? Okay.

Anyway, hope you ride with us some other time. I'm going to make an effort to try to have beginner type rides at least once a month. I hope others will help me with them because my knowledge of trails is pretty limited. I think a trip to Chino Hills is in order pretty soon, though. But, I want someone to help me plan that because I got all turned around last time I was there.

I was just down at Incycle picking up a new helmet and a pair of gloves. And yeah they are great, alot better then the CE in Rancho. But no hardtails as either of their store right now, only full suspension. So till I get the cash, I'll be using my old Giant.

Yeah I hope to get to go out and ride soon.
