whiting/luge saturday 5/13

thinking about a ride after work maybe starting around 3-4pm.. pace should be slow/moderate so any other newbies are welcome

Along the lines of Intermediate, some tricky loose/washed out sections in Whiting with one pretty good 1/2 mile climb, kind of steep. Then a about a 1/4 mile steep asphalt climb to the STT. Once on STT there is one kind of steep climb, not sure how long, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile. The Luge is a very fun downhill s/t that can be challenging for a novice rider. Once back in Whiting there is some rutted out s/t that can also cause havoc if you aren't used to riding that type of terrain...worse comes to worse you walk the tough sections. The lower 1/2 of Whiting is a blast and is relatively flat. tkBlazer is a great guy and I'm sure would be going at a mellow pace. Check it out if you can.

brett pretty much summed it up.. i ended up riding just the luge since one of my friends buddies was running a little late.. was a nice ride with great weather. came back on sunday to take a newbie out on his first ride and he had no problem on the luge..if you take it slow and know your limits, you'll be fine. i might be doing this ride again this saturday if you wanna join in

It is so smooth and fast, I feel like Hans Solo on that last section of Whitting.
