Hey Amigo ,

i think you're better of carpooling with the guys that are coming from south OC since they'll be coming thru your area.

I'll be going on my own to JPL and starting the climb at 7:30 am. and then doing the family thing in Glendale after the ride, so carpooling is out of the question for me.

Tom C. is also going out there to climb @ 7:30 am also

Not too sure if Pain Freak is going to join in on the climb or the shuttle.

Hmm , not too sure who else is going from the I.E./909

I won't be able to make it. I have a commitment in Santa Clarita tomorrow. Everyone have fun and enjoy the ride.

To everybody who was at the ride today, it was great meeting you! It was a lot of fun and I learned a fair amount, so I'm looking forward to the next time I get to the trails. Now I at least know what gear to be in so I'm not killing myself on the climbs and ending up walking

Oh, and of course thanks for putting up with my slower riding! I was basically in the back all the time, but it is my first day on the trails with the bike. I'll be a little faster next time everybody sees me

yeah, yeah, yeah, you all and your fun rides this weekend suck!

Ah, I'm just jealous b/c I've been under the weather all weekend! Probably too much info, but it feels like I've got concrete in my sinuses and I haven't tasted or smelled anything since friday afternoon...good times, I tell ya!

Anyway, glad to hear lots of good rides and good times were had this weekend even if I couldn't be part of them...

At least the weather was nasty out....that's what I'm telling myself to ease the pain...

Unfortunately I snoozed for more than 5 minutes, I woke up at 7:45 then wanted to lay here for 5 minutes and before I knew it I got up and it was 8:20...I then saw Rob's text which he sent at 8:05 and was like "f**k!" I need to set my volume higher on my phone. So, I missed G-Day but was able to catch the ride at Aliso and got there around 9:15, thanks to everyone for waiting.

It was kinda nice to ride at a much slower pace and stopping every so often to regroup. We met at the church and rode in, hit Coyote, Cholla, Rock-It, then some of the group had to bail out from there, after that it was me, Gonzo, tkBLAZER, GURP, & last but certainly not least landSHARK. We decided to hit Cholla once more then go down Lynx. Great job by Gurp and landSHARK for hitting Cholla twice today, I was even more stoked they did Lynx with us, it took a little bit of convincing and I almost had to pull out the ol' STR four words of encouragement, but it wasn't necessary. We had to wait for some hikers who were coming up Lynx and then we saw this guy climbing it on a bike and to my surprise it was THE WHISTLER!!!, yes, he was climbing Lynx, I was so stoked to see him, it was rad. So, anyhow, after everyone came down Lynx without incident we cruised along the canyon floor then hit Coyote where tkBLAZER ended up pulling a turtle on that short, steep climb towards the end of Coyote, I was in front so I didn't get to see everything but I heard some comotion and looked back to see him on his back, with his feet still clipped in with his bike up in the air, awesome! He brushed himself off, punched Gonzo in the nose for making him fall then we were all on our way. On the way out landSHARK shared some of her ghost stories with us and I got freaked out, well, not really but those were cool, thanks for sharing. We then ended up at Wendy's for some post ride cholesterol and headed out.

It was fun riding with you all and Lety, I can't wait for you to get your new TRANCE!!! SLYONS, get yourself a pair of some gloves big guy, I give you much credit for riding with those huge blisters. landSHARK, I could tell you were so jealous of that guy's tank of a Cannondale at the bottom of Cholla. Gonz, if you try to lure me into the cave at the bottom of Dripping Cave one more time I am going to be pissed! GURP, congrats on cleaning Cholla the 2nd time around. Last but not least, thanks to Steve/DukeTheNuke for organizing this ride, it was cool to be able to show some new riders around the trails today.

Gonz snapped a few pix, not sure if he'll post them.

Well, I got a late start (I thought), so I parked at Canyon Acres and climbed Cholla, thinking I would see you all up there. I waited for a while.
I had a short window to ride, so I dropped Lynx to see if I could see you guys coming up. No dice. I then had to call it a day.
Lakers were calling. (how 'bout the Purple and Gold!!)
Sorry I missed everybody. I'll make a group ride one of these days!

I had a great time today, thanks to Steve for organizing and Bret for leading us down Lynx.

For the record, I think the reason that picture of me on Rockit is so sharp is because I was going about 5mph. But, I look f*cking intense, so thanks, George for the great picture!!! I already showed my wife and she was suitably impressed. I think the red bike makes me look faster than I am.

It was really great to meet all you guys. George, thanks for taking the pics and for the humor. Steve, thanks for the organization and for bringing up the rear with NewSteve and me. NewSteve, you should also take the reflectors off your bike or other bikers, not us, of course, will make fun of you. Reflectors and kickstands do not belong on mountain bikes, no matter what Steven Jackson might say. But, yeah, keep riding, dood! Lety, Chris, great to have you both along. Both of you are stronger riders than me so no whining about being new. And, Chris, set up a video camera and record some ghostly activity. I want to believe. Nam, good to meet you, too, man. Don't feel bad about pulling a turtle, I've done that before. At least you didn't endo on a concrete culvert! Ray, CJ next time you'll have to ride longer with us!

Anyway, this was a great ride. I think it'd be great if someone wanted to organize a beginner/intermediate ride at Chino Hills. I know some of those trails and I think we could do a nice loop over there. I'd go, as long as scheduling permitted.

Thanks for the fun ride. I'm sorry I couldn't stay. Next time I'll clear my schedule. It was a great to get out of my riding rut. G ~ you're a funny guy. Thanks for the laughs. You're never going to get me to pull your finger. B ~ sucks for you that you slept in but I'm glad you were out with us. Are you sure you only had 1 drink the night before? Landshark it was great seeing another girl out. Everyone else - great job. We all finished with smiles on our face and minimal blood. )

With softball out of my schedule I'm hoping to ride more often. Hope to see you guys again soon!
