Question Morning April 29th Relaxed Ride

Ok so mabey DINO did scare me a bit, and mabey I am not in the climbing shape I tell myself I am. I still want to Ride this Saturday morning and get into better shape.

I'd Love to start 7:30 ish and be done by 11:30 / 12ish

I was thinking of hitting Aliso, Turnbull, or Moro.

1. Who's up for it ?
2. Where would you like to go ?

You know you want to show me the ropes at Aliso ShinKen.

Common meng!

and yes At moro (which you have to pay to park at) right through the gate it is a nice steady climb to start, thats as far as i got two years ago when i went on my own. I then decided it was a bad Idea to do it alone.

The beauty of both places is that you can squeeze out a long ride at either. CalEpic and I just did 20 miles at Aliso without even planning for it. Aliso has more technical areas that I know about but from El Moro you can more easily hit other trails in other parks that are high on the gnarliness factor...

Both have free parking (Park at the end of Ridge Park off 73 and Newport Coast Dr. for El Moro). Both are really close to each other (maybe 10 min).

I know I'm not helping to settle anything, so I'll stop typing and get back to work......

I'm still a little undecided as to how ambitious I'll be on Sat...but I'm leaning towards something more like this ride so I can hang with my wife on Sat.

How about Aliso and El Moro with a coffee break at Deidrich's on PCH between the Aliso and El Moro rides.

We can meet at the Canyon Vistas back entrance to Aliso.

We can take in the best of both parks by hitting the fun DH trails and keeping to the easy climbs.

JamR you are sounding Right along what I was hoping for!! do you think we'd be done by or at 12 though??

And will it be a circuit or are we in need of a shuttle to the cars??

No shuttle requried and easily done by 11:30 or noon at an easy pace. I'm looking for a nice easy ride on Saturday.

JamR, it was great seeing you for the 3 seconds as we were climbing to Top of the World on Sunday as you were descending.

I might be down for this Saturday ride as well...

General thoughts are:

From Canyon Vistas gate:
Up Cholla to T.O.W.
Down Canyon Acres
Laguna Canyon Rd to Deidrich's (Caffeine)
Deidrichs to Boat Canyon
Up Boat Canyon to Bommer Ridge to Missing Link
M.L. to Rattle Snake
Down Rattle Snake
Up I think I Can to Moro Ridge
Down BVD's
Up Emerald or Old Em
Down Willow
Up Steps
Down Cholla back to the cars.

We can always add Rock-it after coming up Steps for a final DH.

Would probably only add 10 minutes to the ride.
