Default Friday morning, 4/21, Marshall Canyon and Claremont Wilderness Park

I'm planning to ride the trails of Marshall Cyn. and Claremont Wilderness Park Friday, around 8am. I plan to go up Marshall around into the CWP, then up Evey and W. Fork. It's a grinder. I imagine I'll be able to 8 miles or so up. Probably around 15-16 miles round trip. I'm not very fast either up or downhill. Anybody feels like riding, let me know. I should be at the Oak Park lot about 8 a.m.

Glenn, if you're going to start from the bottom of Marshall and go all the way up to Potato mountain it's going to be 9.5 miles of climbing.

here's the link to the actual ride: Geoladders -- Marshall Canyon - Potato Mountain

good luck on that ride, make sure you take anough fluid and a good snack

I wouldn't mind joining you for this ride. Call me(John) at 626-833-2191 if you'd like to meet up. I actually rode Marshall yesterday and most of the puddles are gone. Some guys also put up some jumps over by the stables that are pretty cool as well. I've been riding this trail for 2 years now and find new trails once in a while. You ever hear of the "Blair Witch House Trail" they've described on socalmtb.com? I heard it burned down but I've been looking for the remains of the house whenever I'm in the mood to venture around.

Last time we made the detour and tried to go up to the place where the house was, it was closed off and we had a hard time just finding the trail we used to follow. it really wasn't much anyways.

I know, Armondo, that's why I said I'd probably go about 8 miles! I don't know that I can make it all the way. I *did* ride 14.5 miles on Monday, 9 (road) miles on Weds. and 12.5 (road) miles today. So, I'm getting there. But, I still don't think I'm going to make it the whole way. We'll see how far I get. The grade on the fireroad after that "Angeles Forest" sign looks hellacious!!! I didn't even think I could walk it the other day!

i know you can make it, because from that sign it's not very much further up to get to the saddle then Potato mountain is just up from there. just grind it on your granny gear, slowly but surely you'll make it. just think positive!! don't think negative or be too hard on yourself; you may just surprise yourself!!
