Default Sullivan Ridge weekdays after work?

I ride this usually on Tuesday and Thursday after work around 5pm.
Just a straight fireroad climb to Dirt Mulholland Drive and back down again (total 12 mi). There are some singletracks off the fireroad and a singletrack connector to Westridge for a nice 15mi loop (Sullivan Ridge to ST connector up Westridge and down Sullivan Ridge). Alternatively, you can make a bigger loop from Sullivan Ridge to Sullivan Canyon and up Westridge and back down Sullivan Ridge (don't know mileage on this loop). The Canyon has very little techy parts and a lot of water crossings at the moment.

Some pics I took of yesterday's ride. 1. trailhead entrance 2. old gate off the trail 3. Camp Josepho and beginning of the dirt fireroad 4. the tree (this is mile 4 starting from the entrance) 5. dirt mulholland (top is mile 6)

I'll be on this today and Thursday if any novice riders wants to join.

I normally start from Reseda Blvd & head up to the fireroad.
Do you know how Sullivan's Canyon connects up to Westridge? I want to do this loop, but not sure of how it all connects... I maybe there this weekend...

I have been wondering if the trail that goes down from westridge, at the garbage can right after the westridge trail head, goes all the way down to the canyon, I have been meaning to try, but never get around to it. Is this where you connect?

I think that is a hiking trail only. I've never seen any riders headed down or up from that location. If you head out of Westridge trailhead and down Westgate, turn right on Bayliss and another right on Queensferry, you hit the trail head for Sullivan Canyon. This is where I see a majority of mtb riders.

When I get a chance I'll snap some pics of the Sullivan Canyon/Westridge. Basically, from the Westridge picnic area at the top, head toward dirt Mulholland, make a left down Sullivan Ridge and another left down Sullivan Canyon (shown in pic 1 - trail heading down and 2 - thats not me in the pic, just another rider). Follow the trail all the way down and it will end at Queensferry Lane on the left. Head up, left on Bayliss, left on Westgate and its a pavement climb back to Westridge trailhead.

Thumbs up

The best way to ride Sullivan Canyon is to start from the top. the trailhead is on Sullivan Ridge less than a mile south of Dirt Mulholland Dr. on the east side.

If you start from the southern end it is best to climb to the top via Westridge or Sullivan Ridge

Here is the the Westridge/ Sullivan Canyon loop info. from Geoladders: Geoladders -- Westridge-Sullivan Canyon

We didn't ride down it a couple of weeks ago because of the water level.

Good Luck!!

yeah I usually park at bayliss and queensferry and ride up westridge and down the canyon, I know there are a number of side trails that I have always wanted to explore. We usually ride tuesday and thursday mornings, and sometimes on weekends.

I seen some tire tracks on that trail off of the garbage can, but I have never checked it out.
