Murrieta Recon ... Saturday 7-19

I think I'm going to do some further exploring in the area I asked about in this thread on Saturday morning. We can meet at the Los Alamos Sports Park early to avoid the heat, say about 7am. Any takers? It will be an OFG pace. (old fat guy)

Wow, an area being discussed that I ride! hahaha It's not bad riding out there, some of it has disapeared due to the housing boom...believe it or not I used to be able to ride from Bundy Canyon to Temecula and only use pavement once or twice. The nice thing out there is that its pretty hard to get lost. The trails aren't too bad and the MX guys are really cool, I've spoken with quite a few of them over the years riding out there. The trails are a bit rutted but their the trails I ride weekly so I've just figured out to ride them. I suppose its not as epic as some of the other trails discussed on STR but they're literally five minutes from my front door.

Wish I could join you but unfourtanatly I've gotta work. Have fun out there.

Well, maybe not fat but quite a few pounds over my racing weight ... and I do have my mother's hips. We can firm up the details for Saturday on Thursday evening's ride.

It would have been nice to have a "local" guiding us. I'm sure there are some areas that shouldn't be missed. Maybe next time?

Okay, here's the deal ... we're going to meet at the Los Alamos Sports Park at 7 am for some "preheat" exploration. There's a small building with a rest room on the back side of the park that we'll meet at. So far it looks like our merry band of explorers will consist of three riders ... any other takers? If you need further directions to the park feel free to PM me.

Maybe we can do this again when you don't have to work. We've talked about adding some night riding to the "Tour" and doing some of the trails we're going to explore tomorrow.
