Default for those that missed the BBQ: another big bear trip

So, seeing as i couldn't make the BBQ last weekend up in big bear, I'm planning on heading up there this coming weekend for some sweet DH action.

If anyone would like to come, I'd be happy to have a few more people to ride with. Also, if you know tour way around the mountain pretty well, i would love you for showing me some good trails

In terms of pace, I would say to be at least an advanced intermediate rider. Unless something changes, I'll be sticking to the east side of the lifts and going as fast as i can manage on my hardtail (its a big hardtail though).

I also may have a few places for people to crash at my cabin in moonridge, so PM me about that if you're interested. It's right off the bottom of lower fall line, so you can do a run and just coast in the door.

I am planning on heading up this weekend again... have a few others that are interested but they will probably flake by the weekend so I may be solo. Either way, I'll be down for some runs. I'll let you know.

sure thing. As of now i don;t have anyone for sure that's going with me. I'd rather not be completely solo, so I may not end up going if nobody is going to be there

I'd really like to go though.

I should be going with my friend, but I need to check with him before I'm sure. For those that will be riding the lifts saturday, keep an eye out for me/us. I'll be on my franken speshy or my white trek fuel, and my friend would be on a turquoise '08 stumpy (the demo colors). Come say hi if you see us.

oh yeah, franken speshy:

I'll be there on Sunday on a black 1x1. Never ridden there or anywhere else lift-assisted before, looking forward to some downs without the ups.

Not sure really why they stopped the production on the vpx.

What bike were you on?

Could be.... Dont really know my way around there. Off the (east?) side we dropped in where there where some big metal cables and took the right hand trail, then passed a "hiking only" trail, then after a short FR traverse hit a nice banked trail down to the bottom. Is Pirates near there?

Came back later and took the lefthand trail after the metal cable.....all I can say is that has gotta be a full on Pro DH course!
Got three runs on 1Eo1 top to bottom, thats a great ST trail. Found a trail in Knickerbocker cyn. thats really nice too.

I had a great time up there this weekend too. I think I saw both abstrakt and scottay, but it completely went over my head (couldn't remember what bikes you guys said you'd be on )

I was on a dark blue stumpy (07, it my brothers. I forgot the wheel for my hardtail ), and my friend on a turquoise stumpy (08, very pretty )

Also, traumadriver, did you get a flat and pinch your brake on fall line? i think i loaned you my screwdriver

Anyways, I'll be down to go in 2-3 weeks probably. Somebody post up a thread, and maybe we can meet up somewhere.
