Dean, I think i'll show up for this too (if you don't mind), as it's close to home and i'm needing to ride. I'll bring my LED flashlight thingy and zipties. Is it 6pm then?

Good fun getting to go for a ride and hang-out with some STR "OG" bubbs. Dean came up with a real winner of an evening route in ElMo/LCWP, complete with a screamin' singletrack happy ending!
![]() Lance, it was great meeting and riding with you. Craig, Dell, Dean, and Patrick... always a pleasure getting to ride with you guys!

Heck of a good time that was!!!
![]() Thanks for posting that pic, eh!!! I stole a pic from Geoladders to send to my NC mtb buddies, but I'll send'em this one too. Art- it was great meeting and riding with you too! Glad you were able to make it! And it was great to see, ride, and hang with the rest of the bubbs too! ![]() Seriously good route too! Some of the old familiar and some new dirt. Well-balanced. And Dean, you are THE MAN (in a good way) for letting me use your RIP 9 .I already bragged to my mtb buddies back home about the ride and your rig! Whoever said a 29er can't do light/moderate all mountain/trailriding needs to ride that bike. Smooth, confident, capable. My fellow eco/mtb dork buddy will love to hear about the mod with the Pike spring! Anywho, let's start conspiring about a follow-up ride! BanannaSeat- everyone was heavily poo-poo'ing Turnbull.... ...even though I told them it's all about the puffy taco. We may need to return to the drawing board on that. Maybe Holy Jim? Maple Springs to the Motorway? There was talk of the San Gabes, but I miss the Santa Ana's . And to be honest, I'd be happy doing The Big Tour de Aliso. ![]() |

Well, we're home and settling back in to East Coast time. Would've posted yesterday but I managed to sneak-in an afternoon ride after the various sunday chores...and the laptop crapped out on us...again. We may venture to Mac after this....anywho, that's a different story... So, that means I was able to ride both West coast and East Coast of this fine country in a single weekend!
![]() Once again I have to thank my STR bro's for that fine hospitality! Two killer rides, a BBQ, lunch, post-ride grubs and brews, etc...it really was an honor to be the guest of honor ! A hearty thanks again to Dean for letting me ride the RIP , that was simply awesome! I couldn't shut up about the bike and our rides yesterday! ShinKin, I hope the CrankBro offices were all you dreamed them to be! It was great hanging with you all again like no time has passed and meeting some new STR bubbs and friends! As I said time and time again last week, times like that are what made leaving SoCal a difficult decision. ...better said, you all made leaving SoCal so difficult.... Anywho, before the water-works start up...it goes without saying, but you are all welcome to the same hospitality if you ever visit out here! NC has lots of cool trails to offer with just about any type of riding you desire not too far away. Along those lines, as promised, here are the pics from our recent group trip out to the Pisgah and Dupont Forests of Western NC. Just SouthWest of Asheville. Initially, I only knew one other guy there (out of ~16)and we didn't have Gonzo or Guero taking sweet artistic photos of peeps or terrain, so what you see is what you get. Also, I was at/near the front of the pack most of the time, so I didn't get into most of the photos . In this way I was representing STR like a champ! ![]() |
