I've posted them last couple weeks but no one has replied. Doesn't help that the rsvp function isn't working great on top of the posts being made somewhat late.

I think we're on for tonite though the RSVP is not working. I'm going to go regardless so if you can make it be there at 6:00 (NOTE EARLIER START TIME)

weird... something must be wrong with the computer here at work because i don't recall seeing any of the postings the past couple weeks and i usually make it a point to check for them.

even now, i don't see the post for tonight (unless you were referring to the one starting from bike empire).

anyway, i can't make the 6pm ride tonight, but i'll keep a closer eye for next week's post!

I just realized that the rides were being posted on the calendar instead of the actual forum!

When we start at 6 you probably wont need lights. We are seldom out much over 2 hours and there is still enough light to get by until around 830.

There is a ride that goes from Pro Built Wheels Tues at 5:30. Not aware of any on Thursdays.

In the past when you created a ride in the trail talk forum it created a thread as well as a calendar entry. Doesn't seem to do that anymore. Maybe next time I'll create a poll in the forum so people can reply and one in the calendar so they can see it in the front page.

Fun ride tonight--only Evdog and I but fun none the less. Timed the daylight perfectly by getting back to the cars right at 8 o'clock. Brought the lights but didn't need them.

i rode home from work for the first time for a while through the canyon tonight and went up to the del mar mesa area. I normally just do rides from my house which is right at the east end so i rarely ride that far west. So, I haven't been up there since the construction began and I could not believe what I saw... Never in my life have I seen such a large area of what used to be open space leveled and grated... just totally wiped out; it was sickening.

the amazing thing is i just read about this guy getting reamed by the city for supposedly making jumps without a permit from the city even though he had the property owners permission.

money talks, huh?

When you consider who showed up and who didn't we were pretty much guaranteed a good ride

Thats pretty harsh. Never heard of anything like this happening before over trails/jumps. But technically its well within the city's rights. What surprises me is that any kind of permission was given by Sempra. I would suspect there's a lot more going on than what is described. Maybe its on sensitive or unstable terrain. The city will usually clamp down only after complaints from neighbors or others, which is when they would use technicalities such as this. Perhaps when the builders were confronted by the city they tried to play the permission card. The city, wanting the stuff gone, then uses the grading permit technicality. But its unfortunate they're following through with it. The builders must have pissed them off mighty fine.
