Oops. I meant morning. I have to be in Fallbrook by 3PM-ish. So it needs to be in the morning, but doesn't have to be early. Though I can do early if need be.

I am open to ride wherever. I'd prefer to not drive too far with gas prices being what they are. But, I just want to ride, so I'm not that picky. Daley is alright. I haven't ridden there much lately. There is still more and more new stuff at LPQ too. I never thought LPQ would be one of my favorite places to ride, but it is. Times (and trails) change though.

Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?

LPQ's good with me, nice and close to home. I'd be up for some bushwacking.

I found the way back from the new tunnel. There's a switchback climb just to the east. Still not sure where it starts, but it definitely makes it all the way and is a lot more climbable than anything else I've tried so far.

Edit: I don't see the reason to edit this post, but to be nice, I've removed the rather cryptic directions I have posted. If you want to know where the tunnel is, send me a pm or email me at admin AT dirt treaders DOT com. Or, just follow the tire treads.

PQ and Rancho Penasquitos are one in the same. The Tunnel trails are on top of the mesa above the PQ fire roads. Just follow all of the other bikes up the hill along the power lines and you'll find it.

I will be there with a few coworkers. I drive a white nissan frontier and a red trek. We will park on the noth side the softball fields. Right next to the big ass dirt hill. Stop by if you want to ride with us.

Although, IMO, it would be nice to not broadcast directions on a super popular message board. That new Tunnel is already getting destroyed by too much traffic. We discovered it many months ago and it has already changed dramatically since then.

For example: Yesterday, I saw on one of the tighter "V" shaped notches you have to finesse through, that the tree/bush trunk on the right side has been struck by so many pedals, that it has been sawed in half and is breaking. Also, the edge of the trail has seen so many skids by careless riders that is is turning into deep powder.

There are also many ways back up to the Mesa, not just the switchbacks. It's super easy to figure it all out. Just do a little legwork. I can think of at least 3 different ways.

I'm also seeing equestrian tracks on the new stuff too. Please keep directions and routes confined to showing someone in person, or at the very least, through PM's only. All these trails are legal, but they are getting overused very quickly.

Thanks!!
