Default Best Route Between LCWP and Aliso?

So I will probably want to do an El Moro, LWCP, Aliso ride tomorrow. (Yeah I know vintage ride but hey...)

I know El Moro, LWCP and Aliso pretty well, but what I have not done is the climb from 133 up to Aliso ("hellish" Canyon Acres I suppose, but is there better?) but My buddy is not a great descender. So when we are ready to go back to LWCP from Aliso what route back should we take? We will probably climb back up Willow into LWCP.

Thanks.

could climb up Canyon Acers and then go down Stair Steps. Your friend may have to walk a bit but all in all it's a fun trail.

I agree with Pat. Go down Stair Steps and climb up Canyon Acres. I think those are the only 2 legal trails going up from Laguna Canyon Rd or down from Aliso.

P.S. Maybe make an accidental detour right on a little single track while descending Canyon Acres... just kidding.

Canyon Acres was plowed recently. It's too chewed up and loose to ride up right now.

That would depend on who's doing the climbing.

Me? Hardly... I can do about 2/3 of it (with stops/HAB).
But I know a couple of guys who can do it like I do Mathis... steadily and without dabbing.

Ride/hoof it up StairSteps instead. Much less painful than Canyon Acres, in my opinion.

So we ended climbing Canyon Acres...and yes "Hellish" is a good term, worked hard probably clean ~2/3 or more of it. We went down Stair Step...now that was fun I rode all of it except a couple of the mega-ledges / steps...my buddy walked a lot of it. All in all good day...Meadows was awesome.

Thanks for the help

Full Route was ~27+ Mile 4400ft of climbing.

In short the route was
El Moro Canyon, I Think I Can, El Moro Ridge, Bommer, Water Tank, Canyon Acres, Meadows, Cholla, Stair Step, Willow, Fencline, No Name Ridge, No Dogs
