Default Holy Jim -> Peak -> Upper HJ -> Trabuco

When:
This Saturday the 8th

Meeting place:
  • Trabuco dirt parking lot
Start time:
  • 8 a.m. sharp (if you are running late call me @ 949-633-7266 or we will leave you)
The ride:
  • Start at the Trabuco dirt parking lot. Climb lower Holy Jim then take Main Divide up to Santiago Peak. Come down upper Holy Jim and continue on Main Divide to Trabuco's singletrack and back out to the cars
Who:
  • There is a lot of climbing and really fun technical decent so this is not a beginers ride. If you are a slower rider, but can still ride about 35 miles you are welcome. I will be stoping a lot to create waypoints on my gps and take pictures, so I can create a new route on geoladders.
  • Anyone that rides with me knows I always stop and wait for other riders. This will be my maiden ride on the Flux, so I won't be decending at my normal pace either.
After the ride:
  • Food and drinks(at least those who are old enough, not me) at Cook's Corner

There are easier up and back options within this ride that are still fun: HJT up and back (about 2800 vertical ft) or HJT/Peak/HJT (about 4500 vert ft). The full loop you are planning is about 6500 vert ft, I think. I would be a little concerned about Lower HJT being wet/muddy. Any opinions?

With two full days of sunshine before the ride on Saturday, I think mud will not be a problem. The creeks might be larger, but nothing I'm worried about.
