Does Anyone know how to get there (like adress) will be my first time riding with STR I don't really know if I have to confirm or anything like that. What time do I have to get there? and where? how many people usually go? Thanks everybody, I'm happy to part of STR now.

Is there a posted ride you signed up for? blackstar is fun to do at night but I wouldn't recommend doing it alone since it sounds like you've haven't rode this before. If you get off the 55 on chapman and head up towards irvine park you continue on that road until it turns into Santiago Canyon road. Make a left on Silverado Cyn. road and then make another left on blackstar canyon road. Park at the beginning of blackstar canyon road and ride the road up to the white gate. After that its just fireroad climb up until the main divide. Have fun

How long have you been mountainbiking? It takes a good rider a little over an hour to climb from gate to gate. I know it ain't easy since its about 2,000' of continuous climbing. If you're used to climbing then its not too bad of a climb. If not then

Oh ok I've been riding for almost 15 years now with a few breaks of course, but I am very good in climbing, I like that one in Chino Hills ( North Ridge), but what I was saying is if the trail has a lot hazards like big holes or something like it? Do you the adress by any chance so I can type in my Nav.
Thanks again

Or a slow rider 2 hours to go 6 miles up...

I hear its about 8 miles total to beeks... havent made it there yet!

Tip of the day... dont try Blackstar for the first time in the middle of a hot day after a few drinks the night before.

You could have made it Pam. The guys wanted to turn around because they were done.

There is one hazard you should look out for. About 3/4 of the way up there is a large washout in the fireroad that happened during the rains this last winter. As long as you have a good set of lights you'll be fine.

Say hi to Art 4 me!

Just a tip. Try to keep the chatter down till you past the big cement tubes so not to disturb the residents in Blackstar. Have fun, I ride Blackstar way too much in the winter so I won't be back there @ night till the clocks reset.

I would recommend doing it at least once in the daytime before you do it at night. It takes me almost 2 hrs to go up and 45 minutes to come back down. It is not at all technical but is a steady climb to the top.

I also would recommend not going alone, particularly at night. And watch where you park. You'll get a ticket if you park near a No Parking sign.
