Default Where To Ride Sunday, 4/02?

MS, if open, has been mentioned, as has Harding to Joplin. Don't know how well Harding holds up to rain, but figure it's about as sturdy as MS. No idea about Joplin, but the Luge will be a mess.

San Juan is another option, it seems to take the rain pretty well.

Ideas?

I would like to try and do something besides MS since we did that last week....however I don't want for it to turn into a mud-fest either. MS is a pretty safe bet it won't be muddy. Hopefully the sun stays out the rest of the day.

No, no, no, harding and joplin will be WAY too muddy to ride. Save them for later! And you don't want to give LBmtb poison oak this soon again, do you???

Ok, so the truth of the matter is I can only do a shortish/early ride tomorrow. But, both CalEpic (in Vegas) and I have been itching to do that ride since the last time you all did it.

Obviously you guys can do whatever works and if it's Harding - Joplin, then so be it. Have fun and enjoy! Just take some pictures this time!

I'm hoping El moro will be open since it's close to the airport (where I gotta be by 11am). Rob, you're an El Moro regular, any feel for if they will be open tomorrow?

San Juan will be good. Joplin good too. Harding might be a little slow near the bottom but it does not get muddy.

Lance the chances of El Moro being open tomorrow are about as good as Dean Stepper doing a 5ft huck, VERY slim and none.

Kippie we just did MS/Motorway last weekend so if at all possible I know Dell and I would rather do something else.

Thanks for the invite, Armando, but I've got to keep it closer to home tomorrow. Your Art Smith/Palm Canyon rides sound awesome, though--I definitely want to join you on one of them. Been too long, we should ride soon.

Good to know, ArrrKelly. Thanks. If nobody's hot on Harding, I'm down with San Juan.

What do you want to do, Kippie? It's your party, bro--make the call. If you feel pretty good about MS being open, I could ride that again. Rob, you into MS once more? Motorway is always a blast.

And yeah, let's get some new faces out there. Should be fun, whatever we do!

Actually, Armondo talked me into going on that Art Smith ride here in Palm Springs. I dunno, sounds kinda long for my first ride. 28.5 miles...

Your thoughts Kipp? Where are you going, and what's the difficulty? I just want to ride, so if there is a shorter one, I might be better off for my first spin.

I'm sure where ever we go, it wont be nearly 28 miles. MS to Motorway is only 17.

Maybe we should take a vote

I think I'd rather do Harding to Joplin....and shuttle the first few road miles since it is quick enough to drive over there. But if more people want to do MS/Motorway I'm up for that also.

I have no interest in Maple Springs.

Gotta take off now, but check back tonight to see where the ride ends up.

Alright Stu, if we do Harding/Joplin/STT are you actually going to join us on your first STR group ride? I'm with you though, I'd rather not do MS again. Let's get a big group out there and do Harding.......just sucks we may have to skip the Luge. If we know we are going to skip the Luge then we can just all park at the Harding trailhead or on Modjeska instead of at Cooks and skip the shuttle. Anyone know how the Luge is?

Harding to Joplin is fine by me. Can decide on the Luge when we get there, but I'm betting it'll be a mess.

What say, y'all?

And Sway?, here's a link to the route we're talking about. Haven't been on the ride Armando's doing, so can't compare directly. Distance for this ride is shorter, but there is some extended fireroad climbing involved.

You'll have fun either way I'm sure, but the Harding group is slightly better looking, and they're known to smell nicer over longer distances.

No poaching here, it's just what I've heard...
