Just a recommendation that takes in some of the newly reopened stuff:

--Up Taco (tough climb with a smidge of hike a bike) and up the 3rd B and around Robber's Roost
--Down the first of the newly reopened frontside trails off Barham Ridge (still pretty loose, but fun and swoopy)
--Up Powerline (steep, with some hike-a-bike, but 90% rideable); this puts you at the top gate of the 3 B's
--Downhill to the singletrack cutoffs to Taco downhill (optional gnar rock roller or mini-huck on the way)
--Up the 3 B's
--Playtime on the jumps and drops up top
--Optional at this point: Either go do the Weir Canyon Loop (with Cliffhanger downhill); or just head straight down Barham Ridge and go out on Chutes. (the Weir group would tack on Chutes at the end cuz that's the most direct way back out.
--Lower singletrack back to Irvine Regional and out

As said before, just a recommendation. Another option would be to cut out the Taco downhill and drop Goat instead and loop back to the B's.

i am seeing my trainer that morning at 7 so I won't be able to get there until around 8:30 any one up for a slow pace ride through peter's canyon? then tacos and beer after. I am thinking the lake loop up or around big red across the ridge to the single track it the back of the park then back out it is about 7 miles could maybe get in two laps if we wanted.

Nice - No DNA samples this time?

We have not ridden together in a long time. I'm looking forward to it.

If you put this at the start it will nail almost the entier place.

-- Up zips and down goat

Yeah, but i'm personally not a fan of climbing Chutes/Zips, and I think doing it on a weekend morning is asking for trouble.

Yeah maybe I'll join ya for that. Though I would like to explore some of these other trails I keep hearing about...

ODB, I like this route. Are you willing to take point?

I agree on the "going up Chutes/Zips." Not a good idea on a weekend, as it's traditionally a downhill trail and we will get run over while we are pissing off all the people coming downhill.

I'd like to put in a vote for ODB's plan. All in favor?

Can you be there BY 830? I don't think the group would be opposed to an 830 roll-out as it's going to be a social/fun ride. Would that enable you to make it on time to catch the main group?

I don't know what Taco or Powerline are, but I looked up the 3B's on geoladders, looks like a PITA but I can do it although you might have to wait for me at the top, fellas! C'mon Rudy ... even if you get there after we take off, I'm sure you'll pass me on the way up...hahaha.

What are the other two climbs in that post like compared to 3B's?

I won't get mad if you run me over on the multi use trail. I swear I won't. lol
I agree it might not be good to take a big group up that way on the weekend. I push up it all the time and am pretty good at staying out of the way. But do keep an eye open because I'm far from the only one climbing it (and hiking it).

I think by the time we get the wives dropped off 830 would be a good time to roll out. Depending on how big the group is and the routes wanted, we may want to break out into smaller groups C U there!

What are the other two climbs in that post like compared to 3B's?
Taco = steep, techie singletrack climb with a couple unclimbable sections (too powdery, plus a steep rock waterfall)
Powerline = loose singletrack, not too steep, but gets powdery and unclimbable for a couple hundred feet toward the end. followed by a brief fireroad climb equal in grade to the 3rd B.

I'd be happy to lead this route, or some variation of it, if the majority of riders are on board. ... Or we could break into separate groups, like KevHunkr suggested.

So...umm...does anyone have a kid trailer (any style) I could use for this ride? I'm stuck with the little one and I'll have to bring him along if I want to ride. Let me know if you've got a trailer I can use!

I plan at being at Irvine Regional ready to ride by 8:30 at the latest. And yeah, it's gonna hurt.
