I already have plans the 21st or I would go for sure. It's one of the best trails in the area. Have fun!

Unfortunately Genny, the RSVP function is broken (incompatable with the software upgrade)... just show up. Planning on meeting at the Angelus Oaks country store/dinner parking lot at 9 am. I am involking the 15 minute rule. If you're not there by 9:15 am... we're gone. Sorry, other-wise this turns into the world's longest ride.

We now drop in from Osceola Penny Pines Planation, that route is down hill all the way to South Fork.

Thanks Dean for reminding me that the upper section coming down from Poop-out Hill is loose and rocky and has gotten much worse in the last year. I think we'll by pass this as well and maybe start from the trail out of Jenk's Lake over to the main trail. I abosolutely love the BMX type riding down by the river, thru the trees and over the bridge! Not to be missed.

Heard from someone who rode SART last weekend and got poison oak. She recommends bring alcohol-based wipes to wipe down after the ride.

You might be able to put me down for a MAYBE on this one . Depending on how my dad feels at the end of the week, I may just end up going riding on my own (or on my own with a group). I also have a friend who I think is in arrowhead that weekend, perhaps he might come.

If i can make it, I can probably do a carpool for 2-3 people plus myself leaving from fullerton, but like I said, i won't know if I can even go until later this week.

This trail is not known for having PO.... but I'm sure it's there. After ride wipes are probably a good idea and can't hurt.

Here's the place Gregg has us meeting. The Oaks Diner in Angelus Oaks.

Mountainbikebill has a good trail report full of info, routes, maps and even helmet cam video. Note: I don't think the Geoladders route Gene posted is the one we are doing. It ends way farther down the mountain below Angelus Oaks. I think the route on Bill's map is closer to what we'll be doing (but only Gregg knows for sure )

OK since RSVP ain't working here goes:

This sounds like a fun challenge. Maybe we can do it again with Brenda and Kristine and some other TA's?

Would love to, but have a 6pm sweep with the IRC same day. My legs would be toast.

So is this the route that will be taken? Only 2,100 feet of climbing over 24 miles? My god that sounds wonderful.

Not sure of the route. Maybe more miles and more climbing?

It's part of the route. We are starting out on the Jenks Lake side.. coming down the drainage to Hwy 38 where we pick up the main SART trail. Trust me, you'll love it!

I am a maybe. I have ridden part of SART but we climbed up from Loch Leven that made for a very long day. You mention some really rocky stuff in the beginning do you use pads? And we are talking a ride of less than 40 miles with less than 5K climbing right? I am just a little worn down for an epic epic.

Does is sound like I am already whinging before the ride even starts
