Sorry you can't make it....Any chance you can pass the word about this to the other TAs that might like this ride and might not be following this thread?

Sure John,

I will post it on the TA's and mention it's a top sprocket ride or middle and above..
Let's do this ride again!! I've never done it either!
Also, if you can ever get away on a Friday, get some peeps to carpool out to Hurkey or Simpson Park sometime.. I'm usually out there on the weekends..

is there any way to just shuttle SART? I mean with basically no climbing involved? As you can tell, I am not a very good climber and have never done SART before. Just wondering.

I was very out of shape at the time I rode this trail and while I had a blast on my hard tail, I was dead 1/2 way through.

I hadn't ridden a bike in probably 15 years and was up for a challenge and a fun ride and I did have FUN!

I had to push myself to make it to the end and was happy I made it but yea, not for new people who are outta shape and new to riding.

The altitude is killer if your not used to it.

P.S. I have been dying to do this ride!!!
+1 but OMR's hosting the ride and he's always got commitments on Sundays.
The Switchback women's clinic is on the same day and
someone's got to watch JR. Maybe break out the trailer with some way to bypass the first rocky section?

OMR,

What route are you taking? Every time someone has posted a SART ride it usually is posted as an 8 hour + ride. Different route?

The SART itself is excellent SSing. Now the stuff around Jenks Lake not as much. SART is the reason I got my first SS bike. The trail from Poopout Hill down the the Stone Circle is not in good shape, very loose with fist sized rocks. We stopped riding it, not worth the Poopout climb. We now drop in from Osceola Penny Pines Planation, that route is down hill all the way to South Fork.

Jordan - the reason the ride seems to usually take 8 hours or so is because of the amount of people and the different skill levels who go on the ride.

Neil and some others have done the route easily in 4 hrs without a ton of stopping and with a smaller group.

With a larger group, usually this route with breaks, regroups and level of mtn bikers who go generally take longer than it should if you were just looking at the route and the miles.

Not sure if i answered your question

You need to go! you would have a really good time! Even if it does take longer than planned.
