I doubt we'll do joplin today, probably more of a stt - luge - back up to vehicle. I'd be down with heading towards Old Camp, but I don't want to commit Lucas to a bigger ride than he signed on for as he's never ridden stt before. We'll play it by ear.
Of course all this assumes the rain holds out until after the ride. I think we'll be cool as they say it is a weak system... I'll be watching the doppler ![]() |

Haven't heard anything from dukethenuke as of yet, but here is the latest doppler.
Ride_2_Live, it was good talking with you! I imagine that the yellowish spot east of Santa Ana and just south of the "a" in "Long Beach" was the sprinkle you were observing. I'll keep my eye on things... |

Just got back from my ride. Dirt conditions are okay, but make sure you have some glasses because your tires will be throwing up a lot of dirt. There are a few patches of mud esp. after you pass the flag but nothing to bad. It did sprinkle consistently for the last hour of my ride, but nothing to complain about(I was out there in a short sleeve jersey and was fine).

Good to hear, thanks for the update!
Just talked to RSMLA (Lucas) to confirm that we're officially ON for 12:30 at the gate of STT! Ride2Live, you still interested??? Not sure if this will be automerged double-mint-gum, or whatever it's called... To corroborate duke's update: CalEpic, RSMLA, and I had a solid ride on STT today. Trail was in great condition--perhaps best I've ever encountered--with a few readily avoidable puddles. Everyone was feeling it, so we went all the way to Old Camp. RSMLA's first time all the way out there, which is always special and well worth the trek down and climb out of the riparian area. He suffered a flat and a broken spoke on the way back, but we managed to fix the flat and remove the spoke with only a few minor mishaps. Don't worry Kippy, he didn't take your "dude with the most stubborn tire EVER" award. It was a bit chilly but hardly a trace of rain. As always, the ride back from Old Camp to the gate left us all with perma-grins . All in all a fantastic way to cap off the week! Last edited by ECOdork; 03-31-2006 at 05:35 PM. You weren't a hold up at all man! But I will take you up on the beer offer!
Glad we were able to get you back on two wheels...it's a looooong walk from the flag pole to the gate! Quote:
