Just a GOOD excuse for another STR party
I always miss the good rides...I'll be working on someone's bike instead of riding mine

Details are still sketchy but it sounds like the first rides into the park might need to be escorted by SHARE, Shimano and Oakley groups. First ride may go out at 8:30am at Borrego entrance.

I'll post more details as I hear 'em and confirm 'em.

From what Ken is saying, I believe you will be able to ride unescourted on 7/12. SHARE, SHIMANO & Oakley are there to escourt new trail users and those not familiar with the park. But then I'm old and what do I know???

Any chance of pink shorts and little bikes? No offense, but that would be a deal breaker for me.

Yup. You are right my friend. Only escorted ride for people who don't know their way through the park. Whew!

Thumbs up

Look's like I'll be hitting it up after the hoopla dies down a little.
I'm really glad it's opening back up, but I'd like to see it later in the afternoon after the crowd thins out some.

Have fun, and feel free to join us later in the day if you'd like.

a coworker and I are planning to ride 8 hours nonstop at whiting after the reopening. We both used to lead shop mtb rides there and have been missing it awfully since it closed. I think we're gonna wait and hit it on a friday morning though; we can ride to it from his house and wanna hit it when its not crazy busy.

I've never been to this trail before but would really love to try it out. I look the trail up on Geo Ladders and there is a couple of routes to choose from. Any suggestions on a good fun ride?

Thanks

I wonder if the Whiting trails will be "fresh" plowed with lots of sand added?

Anybody ever see the bomb run at an off-road motorcycle race?

It's going to look like this at the ribbon cutting...
