Default Orange Y BMX track this Friday(the 13th)!!

Orange Y BMX track this Friday!!
All are invited. Practice and sign-ups are 5:30 to 7:30 on Fridays, and races begin shortly after registration closes. I get there at about 6:00ish.

Show up to practice on the track, or Practice and try out your racing skilzz! If you are in spectator mode there are a lot of open seats in the bleachers(practice your heckling)! So no excuses. Be there or be.......

An ABA membership is required (although 1-day memberships are available).

If you don't have a BMX bike, mountain bikes are OK!

All you need is:
- helmet (XC Helmet is OK, but full face helmets are better)
- long sleeve shirt
- pants

All info here on the website:
http://orangeybmx.com/

Orange Y BMX
2241 E. Palmyra
Orange, California

Directions:

The track is located in the city of Orange east of the
55 Freeway.
Take the Chapman off ramp exit east to Yorba Street, turn right to Palmyra.
Turn right on Palmyra, the track is located at the end of Palmyra on the right.

Looking forward to seeing the bling!

Last night was my first time on a 20" in 20 years. Some time ago, I concluded that I would never be able to ride a 20 again, so I'm pretty happy that I almost can.

Fred was riding last night, and he's looking fast, and getting faster all the time. It's going to be really interesting seeing Fred and Hugh race. And after Scott (Burdman) gets a few more laps under his belt, he'll be right in there as well. I better up my game, or I'm going to be back of the pack soon!

I think that Hugh, Fred, and Scott should race this Friday.

I just found out some bad news. Those of you who have been going to Orange may know or at least have seen Jay Madden. He also wears the FB jersey, riding for Fullerton Bikes, and races in my class. He's one of the guys I'm always following into the finish.

This last Sunday during practice, he hit the first jump wrong and looped backwards, landing on his butt. I just found out today that he broke his pelvis. I don't have all the details of how bad it is, but please pray that he gets better soon. Jay is a really cool guy and a great competitor. He also helps out at the track when he's not racing. Hopefully in his absence, TJ (his 7 yo son) will still make it out to the track. Jay's only 5 days older than me, so this kind of stuff hits very close to home.

This photo was from the Redline Cup Qualifier a couple weeks ago, and Jay (on the far left) ended up winning it.

Ok just two but still

Its doing ok, I can almost walk with the half cast only and kinda stand with it off but if I try to put more then 50% weight on it it really painful still. I am going in the morning to see an Athletic Trainer and Otherpedic Surgeon I have know for years to see what they say.

good to hear that you're at least on track to get everything working again.

That really sucks about Jay though. That track is taking out a lot of people, even if not really seriously.

Not sure whether I'll make it this week actually. I think I'm going to Big Bear and may be leaving friday. We'll see, I may just end up going up later than my parents.
