Nancy and others, if you see anybody wearing an FB (Fullerton Bicycles) jersey like I've been wearing, say hello. There are three usual FB characters at Perris BMX, all of which are really cool:
Kevin Harlow (46-50 cruiser)
Shane Harlow (13)
Scott Swanson (36-40 cruiser)

I'm not sure if they go for practice nights, but I know they're regulars out there. Kevin and Shane came out to Orange yesterday for the double points race. Despite currently recovering from pneumonia, Kevin was still kicking butt! You may know Kevin from years ago, as he used to race DH.

I went out to the Perris track last week on Sunday. That's a fun track! It's quite a bit longer than Orange.

Questions (I am sure this has been covered before, sorry):
  1. Long pants and shirts, seriously?
  2. Pad set?
  3. 24" max wheel size?

Okey dokey, will keep an eye out for them.

Did you race on Sunday? If so, how did you do and what class?

Too bad you can't join us on Mondays.

I didn't race at the Perris track when I was there. I was really only there showing my girlfriend's friends, who were camping at Lake Perris, about BMX. I didn't spend as much time as I should have learning the track, because I was mainly having fun riding with Ko.

They pretty much lumped all the cruisers into one class (they only had 4 or 5 motos).

Per ABA rules, shorts are a no-go. Even wearing DH knee and shin guards, they're not allowed. Some track operators will look the other way on that rule, though.

There are no rules to wheel size limites other than you have to have a nominal 20" wheel for the 20" classes, and you can't have smaller than a 24" wheel for the cruiser class (although mini cruiser wheels are about 22").

I guess at Perris on Monday nights, they must look the other way, as many people wear shorts and/or knee guards!!! Along with T-shirts, rolled up jeans, brain buckets, etc. I wear bmx pants only because I actually own 2 pairs.

Jeans or any other kind of pants are OK. It's kind of ironic since they don't offer the protection that shorts and pads offers. The NBL allows shorts and pads.

Common brain buckets or mtb helmets are OK.

Justin would like to. I don't have a bike that is appropriate, though. We'll see.

Thanks for the response, though!!

We won't be there at 5. Gonna get some CHIPOTLE, get the bikes and head up.

I'm guessing we'll be there after 6. Er, wait. We don't have a car here today. So we'd have to ride home, drive back here... I dunno.

If we do, it looks like I get to do a Chilao/San Gabes day since fuel costs are obviously not prohibitive
