Pull up to the gate, balance or try to balance, Launch the gate, ride the track, and then do it all over again!
Simple!

so I'm trying to think, should I rock the clipless pedals this week? I'll probably be riding my 26". Only thing, I'm going to start trying to manual the doubles, so I'm not sure I wanna be clipped in should I need to ditch off the back of the bike. But then again, with the clipless I'll be able to keep the power down going over the shorter tables. what do you guys think?

In regards to clipless pedals, the only time I think they are of any value is for added power while racing. All skills and techniques should be learned and practiced with platform pedals. If you do not feel like you can control or stay on the bike with platforms, that's an even better reason to use them.

Clipless pedals are only good for added power out of the gate and turns, as well as sprints. They are a liability everywhere else.

That's pretty much what I figured. I just remember last friday, I decided to keep the back down and pedal over the table coming out of turn 2 (instead of jumping it like I usually do. It was REALLY squirrelly, and pretty much the only time I've been worried about my pedals. I guess I'll bring both and see which I like. My A-Frames are a good bit stickier than the pedals on my GT anyway.

Willie and I might not make it we have to meet a guy to sell her old car.
I am not sure what time that is going to happen.

I'll be there early. I'll be stoppping by switchback along the way to look at something, then I'm going to try and get in to start practice just as the groms finish up. Its kinda nice not having to wait in lines I also need all the time I can get to get used to the 26er on the track before the race

We need the money and the space in the driveway.
Trust me the plan was to go to the track like we have almost every friday for a while now.
We didn't make it last weekend because i was building the bike that friday.
If nothing else we will try to at least show up for a little while.

do what you need to do, then what you want to do. We're probably going to be hanging at either the track or taco mesa for a while.

So the good news, nothing is broken in my ankle. Now the bad news, there is a high probability that I tore ligaments. I have a half cast on right now and they want to see a orthopedic surgeon next week.

Anyone know who the guy who was taking pictures was. I am guessing he is some pro that sells them.

Sorry to hear that your ankle wasn't as bad as you thought, but I'm also sorry to hear it's as bad as it is. Best wishes toward a speedy recovery!

The photographer was probably this guy: http://surveyor.smugmug.com/Sports/443212

Thanks for the ice pack.

If there are torn ligaments which the doctor seems to think they are is I would have preferred the broken ankle. Because the torn ligaments will most likely require surgery.

well, good luck with getting that fixed. It really sucks to be off the bike

Aside from all the carnage, it was a good night. Lots of fun, and I'm looking forward to next week (as usual ) Speaking of which, I need to go inspect my helmet

By the way, I'm tentatively planning on being out there on Sunday afternoon. I will either have Ko's new (used) bike there, if she can make it, or my new 20"er.

Mark - Hope the ankle heals quickly. Let us know how things are going. Come out next week and watch everyone ride. I hear CC is going to get on the track.

CC - Thanks for the cookies.

Hopefully I'll have my new tires.
