dukethenuke - Silverado Motorway, you know, up and back.

I live just to south of Bedford Motorway (east side of Santa Ana's) by exactly 1.25 miles. On Friday, Koke and I climbed Bedford, dropped Motorway, climbed Maple Springs, and dropped Bedford. It was a pretty good ride with lot's of climbing involved. Now, because of the toad making whoopie break dance contest, my only option from the east side is Bedford - Motorway - Blackstar Canyon, or Bedford - Motorway (climb back up Motorway).

I don't think it is to convient for you(kinda far from where you live), but from the south you can get to the Motorway from Holy Jim, Trabuco, and San Juan.

I'm riding HJ and Trabuco on Saturday, which will take us on parts of the Motorway. There is another thread with details, you should check it out.

Steve I think you are mixing up Main Divide and the Silverado Motorway. You won't be going anywhere near the Motorway on your Saturday ride.

I was told April 30th. I haven't read any documentation to prove that though. I can't seem to find anything here. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/cleveland/

Just spoke with Ivett at the Ranger Station regarding Maple Springs and she did not know for sure. She only believed the campgrounds were closed, not the actual trails. She said as long as you stay on the trails you are ok. But just to be safe she said she will ask her supervisors and get back to me either later today or tomorrow.

The website does state March 1st - May 30th, Upper San Juan, Dripping Springs, Indian Flats, and Boulder Oak Campgrounds are closed.

I didn't know there were campgrounds at all those places! Maybe after 30 May we can hit one of them up!

Kippie, since it rained through most of my spring break I got enough work done to warrant some mid-week rides. Let me know when you're planning on riding!

Yeah, I read that .pdf too. Anyway, I'm certainly looking forward to your post, after you find out the full scoop. Thanks for calling the honchos.

Just got off the phone with the biologist and she said the trails WILL STAY OPEN!

As long as we stay on the trails and respect any posted signage about the toads mating or migration areas we are fine.
