CANCELED DUE TO RAIN! SORRY!

This ride will be done with minimal stops. Moderate to Fast pace.

Nothing crazy....just a nice steady training pace!

Return to the 4 corners area and straight to make the Viejo Tie SJTT loop back to Cocktail - regroup.
Bomb (safely) back to the parking lot.

i will keep posted on the weather....however, if it is dumping rain....this ride will likely be canceled.

so far about 35 - 40% chance of thunder showers according to the national weather service.

thanks.

If it's raining here likely it will be raining there also. SJT tends to get wet cause the moisture hasn't come over the mountains yet.

We are still maybe's.

I think we made it up to Cocktail in about 1.5 hrs last time? Pretty good pace also. Descending it takes MUCH less time

It is raining here in Lake Forest now, (about 10 miles from the trailhead). I bet it is raining there too. It doesn't look good for tomorrow.

I'd like to go, but it's so much driving from here. Oy. Is there an alternate plan if it rains? (Road?, Vail?, Trainer?). I need 3 hours of zone 2 riding homie; let's make something work.

Can't make it, but don't let the rain hold you back. That is probably the best place around to ride when it's wet! That trail drains very well (except maybe the middle part after CR if you go Old SJ) Has been any crazy amount of rainfall up there? If not, should be really good. I just rode all over Aliso this morning (Friday) and it was SWEET! I was actually planning on SJT this morning, changed plans at last minute.

As soon as it stops raining SJT should be fine. The water just soaks in the DG.

yeah....SJT drains ok I guess....still with amount of moisture we are getting in this short amount of time I bet the trail will be pretty dang soft tomorrow. i don't think i will head out to do this ride for the sake of the trail....woulda been nice though if there was better weather heading in.

it is supposed to blow outta here tomorrow around 10ish or so...vail lake drains really well so racers and chasers or a couple 12 hour laps might be a better option.

thanks.

Sure you don't want some nice steady road miles?

I know you guys are missing out on Vail on Sunday, though.

I guess we could switch up our plans. Only a few interested parties anyway. Not sure I'm up to 2 days back to back, though.

We'll see what happens.

BTW, sorry for the off topic but Jason posted a new map and directions. We were almost a mile short. If possible, can you PM/email where we did not turn??
