Predicted temps in the 20's. This is going to have some great stories. I'll ride about almost any trail out there, but I won't do it when it's that cold. I did do a ride up at McGill/Mt Pinos last November and the tempeture got down to 18 degrees. I swore off cold rides after that. Starting about 3000 feet below the summit the temp was 31 degrees, but after traveling that far I figured, it can't be that bad. I was wrong, it was that bad. Good luck guys, dress warm, lots of layers and you might want to consider a wrap for your camelback tube as mine kept freezing up. Or don't forget to blow the water back into the resevoir.

There was a bad fall there last year. A great OC rider fell and broke her neck. She eventually passed away from her injuries. Be careful on that snow.

Yeah, my great stories will be how warm I was while I sipped a cup of joe in my living room....kids from south texas and temps in the 20's don't go so well together. I simply don't have the clothes for that adventure.

But, if any of you cats going have GPS, share the files as I'd love to do this ride when it warms up a bit. It sounds incredible!

I might be up for this ride. I did the upper section from Southfork to Angeles Oaks in early January. The weather was good. Did the lower section from Angeles Oaks to the ranger station in February the day after it snowed. It wasn't bad. Just bundle up and you should be good to go.

I talked to CranxOC (main coordinator of the ride). This ride will actually be very organzied.

Everyone will split into groups or 5-7 with a group leader and will be given colored duct tape to mark each group.

So who else is interested in this ride?????
