Default Carbon Canyon Regional Park to Chino Hills Ride

Carbon Canyon Regional Park to Chino Hills Ride

Very late notice: This ride is back on again. I know there are other rides like the Boomer ride and the Traverse, but if you don't like those options, join Patrick and me on this very slow ride up to 4 Corners and then on to Raptor Ridge and back. If you decide to join us, bring lots of water. It looks like the temps have dropped just a little... maybe just 1-2 degrees. It's still going to be record breaking temps. Are we stupid to ride in this weather?

Meet at the bathrooms on the north side of the lake at 8:45am. I'll be riding a blue 29er and I'll be ready to roll.

Free street parking in the housing track across CCRP entrance.

With all the coyote attacks around Chino Hills, I'm thinking that we can scare those coyotes out of the area.

I think efmc is referring to Lee not having kids.

At any rate, this may explain (a little, but not completely ) the 'Swiper' thing:

That partially explains it, but that link uses the term "swiping" whereas although the title was changed, it still says "swipping." Is this just a typo?

On an unrelated note (maybe actually related?), I'll check if the gf is up for a ride on Saturday. She hasn't been to Chino Hills yet.

Mileage is about 12 miles total. It's 6 miles up and 6 miles down. It is a steady but not steep climb up to 4 Corners and then you cruise down.

We did a newbie ride there in September and it is perfect terrain for newer riders. This was my wife's first dirt ride. She struggled a bit, but she did it without problems. It will be challenging by won't kill you.

Good point. Along the 12 mile route there are not any places to refill drinking water.
