Default Lake Hodges?

A couple of buddies and myself are thinking of riding this route tomorrow: http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=6996

Anyone have current info on the trails there.

I didn't check your route, but last time I was there some of the upper trails were closed off due to the fires last year. The backside has also been closed for some time due to construction. This all applies only to North Hodges. Not sure of the South Side.

Can't get your link to open. I know for sure the north Shore is open from Sunset to Hernandez Hideaway. Look up San Degito River Park not sure if I spelled it right. Their site has a list of open trails.

That link is not working for me but I've been there a lot lately including today.

There are two areas at Lake Hoges, North and South. North side is in pretty good shape with most trails open from the fires last year, but some good singletrack still off limits. The best part of the South side was still closed last time I was there about 4 weeks ago.

Probably the best places to start are the park and ride just off the 15 at Via Rancho, or further west by the bait shop near the boat launch.

Most of the South side is open now. The trails over the hills are still closed. And to get to the West loop, you need to go out to the street, head South past the water treatment plant to a big metal gate, Go through the gate and follow the trail.

You just can't have too many HTTPs now-a-days.

Hey Kevin ... that's the thing.

The plans are a bit up the air, that why I didn't post a ride. I'm driving down to meet at Darin's house in Vista at noon. He's hoping his wife will be home by then. If she is, we should be at the trails by 12:30-12:45. We haven't made a backup plan in the event she's not home.

Too bad it's Mother's Day or I could help Kevin show you around. Oh well, maybe next time.
