Default RR: El Morro weekly newb's ride

NEW RIDER FRIENDLY RIDE!!! Dont be afraid to come out and ride...
Due to my new work schedule im not able to join all the great riders at the fullerton loop every thursday and sunday

I want to start a weekly ride at El Morro every Tuesday at 5:30pm
this is the route we would be taking with regroups every couple miles
http://www.geoladders.com/show_route...=1&route=12354

first ride is on 5/27/2008 that would be nought time to get a decent group together

we would all meet at the top of Ridge Park

I know Share MTB Club holds rides there every Tues. at 6:00pm. You might want to meet up with them at Ridge Park (North side of the park). Great group of folks.

greg, SHARE has a group ride out there on Tuesdays, starting at Ridge Park at 6pm. Check out: http://www.sharemtb.com/

I wish I could make the evening rides

Yes, it is a club. Do you need to be a member to join them? No. When I first started riding my MTB they welcomed me with open arms. Are they fast, experienced riders? Yes, but not all of them push hard. They were always willing to make sure I made it ok and wait at the top of the climbs for me.

Meet up with them and see if you like the company. I think you'll be surprised. Worst case scenario... you learn some new trails and have some sore legs :P

Greg - The SHARE members are super cool and are HUGE reason we have such awesome places to ride in OC. I have yet to go on an organized ride with them; however, I helped them out with some trail work a month ago. I liked them so much that I'm now a member!

I also think the Share riders will actually go out a bit earlier for fast grinder and then come back for a second loop. Yea I always noticed how busy it is on Tuesday.

Can we roll from Ridge Park at 4:45? I just need to get back to my car by 6:15.
We can take some other routes like Fence Line to Boomer to Emerald and out.

P.S. Trails for all levels. The beginning riders can take the Geoladders route while the advanced riders can take a different route going down from Ridge Park. We can all meet at the El Moro Parking Lot and rejoin for the climb back up.

I know there is a parking fee if you park at the ranger station at the bottom near PCH. Free at the top though huh? Sounds good to me and easier to get to. Coming south on the 133, is there a toll fee at Newport Canyon? Monday or Tues?

Yes south on the "73" there is a toll a Newport Coast think it is like 1.75 but if you get off one earlier Bonita Canyon and take a right onto Bonita and got to Newport coast and take a right its only like .75 I think and will only coast you about 1 min different.

And actually the not so dirty not so secret fact is after ~5:00 PM you can park for free at the bottom parking lot too, been that way for a year or two, the people that collect the fees leave about 4:30.

Greg is saying Tues, but the ride is posted for Monday, Huh?

And the Share Riders a super cool.
