the 9am 'start' time is just a reference point. you can come and go as you please of course. meet up at base camp, shoot the sh*t for a bit, then roll out to the lifts for some runs, back to base camp, and repeat...

As I said in my rsvp, I may go up and ride Summit, but because the park is so far away, I won't likely go there before I ride (and of course not during the day's riding). After riding Summit, I'll probably be too tired to hang out before the 2 hour drive home. If I'm driving all the way to Big Bear, my #1 priority is to ride the good stuff!

Lee - Just so you know...
It's actually not that far away...Really, but it's your choice! The google map makes it look *ALOT*further away than it actually is, but it's your choice

I've been to the park - I know it very well. It's a nice park. When riding a 35 pound bike with grippy tires, it's not close to Summit. It'll also be a great place to drop the family off while you go and play. I know I'll be missing a good time at the park.

If i'm able to get this date and weekend free, this will be my first STR function. Got to check my schedule, Since Kelly (Shedevil) has brought me over here and be part of another great family and have lots of fun with.
Some may have to put a kiddy leash and drag me around....i'll be the one that looks like a headless chicken that doesn't know where to go and follow

maybe 1 mile? or 1 1/2 miles?

Neil and I talked a bit this am about maybe running a few shuttles to and from the park, to make it easier for those who don't want to ride it back and forth.

Here's what I googled: so it's 1.4 miles staying off the main road.

Meadow Park
41220 Park Ave
Big Bear Lake, CA 92315

Via Park Ave

1.4 mi – about 5 mins
1.Head southeast on Park Ave toward Jefferies Rd0.8 mi
2.Turn right at Summit Blvd0.6 mi

Summit Blvd

that is quite gracious of you guys.

however, if people are needing to be shuttled 1.4 miles up a mellow grade to a chairlift, maybe they should reconsider mt. biking? that is like being shuttled to a shuttle. (unless you have kids with ya, i can see the benefit of being shuttled to the chairs)
