We rode BB this weekend and it was HOT !!!!

It was 91 degrees @ 2pm at my in-laws which is about 1/2 way down Summit Blvd.

Stay cool and enjoy the ride.

I rode at Summit on Saturday and Sunday, and the weather was beautiful. The temp display on my truck was about 76 at about 10-11 am and 5-6 pm on both days. There was a nice breeze on most parts of the mountain, and especially on the chairlift (sometimes, it almost felt chilly - but still just right). Sure, when I was stopped and waiting, I tried to find shade, but I couldn't have asked for any better conditions.

Ko had a blast (except for some of the hike-a-bike I made her do while we were exploring for trails). We plan to go this Saturday as well.

Most excellent, afternoon thunder storms are not unusual for the mountains. Makes for an adventure and tacky trails. Normally if it does rain it is just a passing cloud and does not last long. The clouds make for good pictures and keeps the temps down, but I do not like the humidity they bring.

Although someone mentioned it in another thread, I'll mention it again here as well. If you care about the paint on your bike, make sure you have something protecting the seat and chain stays on the non-drive side. Although some of the guys are pretty careful when loading the bike onto the chairlift, there was one guy over this last weekend who all but chucked the bike onto the hook. When he does this, the seat and chain stays bang against some of the chair's framework. He was really abusive to some of the bikes, regardless if it was a rental or a high-end bike.

Nam, depending on who you're riding with, a full-faced helmet and goggles could be useful.

So time to work out some details....

Who's bringing what to BBQ?

For the communty pool:
I will be bringing paper plates, napkins, and plastic forks, spoons $ knives..I've also already paid for the permit and reservations.

We will need Brickets (sp?) for the grills and lighter fluid.

Is anyone bringing stuff to share or is everyone bringing their own food to grill?

I just want to make sure we've got this all covered!

Perhaps the RSVPs can be modified to show who's in for BBQing and for how many people?

To maximize our riding time, Ko and I will likely be eating lunch at the truck in the parking lot or at the View Haus at top of the hill.

Anyone else looking to just go up early Saturday morning for the day and come back? Not sure if I can make it up Friday night so may just make the trek for the day and return.

Did you find the teeter totter?

Yes. It's pretty lame, and the sections of trail near it have no flow. The totter had moved to the side (it's really light weight, and so it moves around when people go over it), so I positioned it back in line with the trail. It could/should easily be moved to a better part of the trail. The uphill log ride just down the hill from there is also pretty weak. But really, that was the only lame part of that trail; the rest of it was really cool. I wasn't feeling the love with an open-face helmet to do that 3-5 foot drop to loose, rocky terrain further down (height depends on distance launched).

Yep, I felt the same way...Middle part of that trail was fun as hell though.
