Not sure if the Permit I pulled for the use of the park will allow a DEMO...It's at work I'll have to look tomorrow.

Kurt (rmb socal) & I were talking about this very thing yesterday, I think there might be some demo's available for use..... But I don't think he's going to bring a demo fleet with him....If someone needs a demo contact Kurt (rmb socal) and he can make arragments for you.

This is still almost 2 months away. The date is set, the park is reserved, plenty of plans will be made between now and then.

Is anyone camping out on Fri and/or Sat night?

Oh and I guess there's no need for an 11 person/bike shuttle vehicle for DH bikes

I went up there on Saturday to get out of the heat and the trails off of the Summit chair lifts are in GREAT shape! Upper and lower fall line, Pirates, etc... Not dusty and other than a few unexpected trees fallen on the trail, it was fantastic.

It's been a while since I've done any sustained downhill stuff..... I have body parts that are sore that I never knew existed.....AGAIN!

I'll be going back up there more regularly before the trails gets chewed up and too dusty.... Unless I'm leading the pack the whole time!!!!!! not likely..

Snow Summit/Bear Mtn bike rules:

Only cross-country style bikes are permitted on the Scenic Sky Chair. No downhill specific bikes will be transported. Any one of the following four factors will disqualify a bike from being transported on the chair.

1. Bikes must be less than 35 pounds.
2. Designated tire size must be less than 2.5.
3. Front shock must have less than 6 inches of travel.
4. Bikes must have three chain rings unless they are single speed.

We camped out Saturday evening and went riding all day yesterday. Weather was perfect. Trails are in good condition but again there wasn't much traffic up there yet. I can't tell you how many heavy bikes we saw (with full face helmets, pads, etc.). Seems like we were the only ones to follow the rules, oh wait we did get caught on an illegal trail but other that we followed the rules, I swear.

Was up on the southside Sunday. I was more towards the west end by PineKnot, Stonehenge, Lodge Pole and Plantation. I ran across MAYBE 5 people the entire 18 miles I put in. All of those folks were in XC gear. I suppose the DH'ers were over on the east end playing on Fall Line.

Where did you guys ride while you were up there?

Greg

I was noticing the same thing on Sat. I was in full compliance with my Enduro SL. But I wore my full face and pads for good measure. I saw a ton of guys out there with RMX's, Stab's, Big Hit's, etc... I guess it depends on who's running the lifts at the time! It's all good man!

We're going to be up at my parents in Arrowhead that weekend. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to get over to BB? I'm trying to think of a way to convince my family to come over, spend the day in Big Bear and stay for the BBQ.

About 40 minutes from Arrowhead to B.B.

This looks fun. Count me in. I'm new to the site so hopefully I'll meet some of you before this. Either way the GF and I will most likely be there.

We'd like to camp. Who else is camping? I'm assuming like everything else in SoCal it's a reservations required type of things. I'll look into that soon.

For anyone who's thinking about camping - I would make those reservations sooner than later, the campsites in Big Bear tend to fill up quick! Especially this time of year

Yeah I noticed that. Serrano is booked but the other place on the first post was still open (though it has no showers).

I'm sad now, I just remembered I've got to be at a trade show in Vegas July 11th-15th. This sucks, I was so excited to go I completely forgot about that.
