DStepper - Are you familiar with the advanced rides that are proposed for this trip? Milagrosa outside Tucson in particular. If you know it, could you compare it to something we may have ridden locally?

Have not riden in the Tucson area. As I remember Pete Fagerlin http://www.petefagerlin.com/azvid.htm has some Tucson Videos on his site.

I live part time in Prescott so I base most of my rides out of there, Tuscon is a little far for a day trip. But Sedona, Flagstaff and Phoeniz are all farely close to Prescott.

Thanks for the link D. After watching that Milagrosa 2 vid, I am so there!

This ride is on Thursday which means leaving sometime on Wednesday. Who's in?

I just watched the Milagrosa vid, looks like some fun technical stuff! If I went on that trip I think the hardest part will be deciding which bike to bring

It's looking like there's going to be a group going for all four days and then another leaving Friday afternoon. I'm up for sharing rooms and splitting costs.

Carpooling only makes sense for this trip. If you're going and can carry pasengers/bikes, post and let us know how many people and bikes you can carry as well as when you're leaving. Estimate how much it will cost for gas and then split that with the passengers.

Then we can figure out who rides with who and all that good stuff.

Me: I have a Toyota Celica. Most likely will need to get a ride some somebody since even one me+bike+gear fills most of the car. I can leave Friday afternoon.

My shituation is that I couldn't leave until 4pm that Friday...I'm not sure how realistic it is to get there at a decent hour leaving then.

Anyone have an accurate drivetime estimate from here to Sedona-area?

Default Roll Call

Let's complete this roll call. I would like to leave Wednesday sometime. Preferably during the day. Steve - can you make that work? If not, I could leave later that night. My gas and lodging are free so if someone I know wants to carpool/share a room, they are welcome to. I can take 4 total in my truck.

Anyone else I know that frequents this board that will be arriving later, I can hook you up with hotel rooms but I'll need to make reservations pretty quickly. (Phoenix through Friday night and Prescott on Saturday night).

EDIT - The hotel rooms are free. I wasn't very clear on that. Sorry.

We should be able to get at least 3 people per room. I don't have an unlimited supply of points so it will be first come, first served. Post up or PM me with your plans.

If you want to buy me dinner or a beer in exchange, I won't hold it against you.
This will be an awesome road trip! Let's get a big group going.

Craig

Duke the nuke you are welcome to join me. The more the cheaper.
If we leave at say 5 or 6 we will be there between 11 and 12 pm. It is posible I could leave say around 3 but my friend so far is unable to leave until 5 or 6 as of now.

Is anyone restricted to leaving in the late afternoon on Friday?

If I can't get this together for this weekend, one of you cats going will have to make sure you get good directions and route names (or post some GPS) of the places you ride!

With the directions from the Spring Fling website combined with my copy of "Cosmic Ray's AZ MTB Guide" I'm seriously thinking about doing my own AZ riding trip on an upcoming weekend!

Lance - Isn't George leaving on Friday afternoon too? Let me know ASAP if you need hotel rooms as I'm quickly running out of points.

Yes I will be leaving Friday afternoon. Got Lance's message - think I'ma join up with him and leave Friday late afternoon. Muchas gracias on the hotel thing, Craig. I'll treat you to lunch or dinner or something if you're able to hook it up. If not then it's no biggie - shouldn't be too expensive after splitting it with some people anyways.
