Mid-week after work ride would be a different answer than no work...
La Costa in Carlsbad, Daley Ranch in Esco are probably the closest...but there's also San Clemente Single Tracks in San Clemente and some others (ex: San Juan, etc). Quote:

There's also Lake Hodges and Calavera.
How far are you willing to drive and what type of trails (difficulty) do you think you'd like to ride?

sdyeti....I may be down for a later in the day ride. I just need a guide.
Blue Rat..I'll ride anything. I'm not a super strong climber. I enjoy technical/flowy/freeride trails ( but who doesn't?) I'm really down for anything. I just know I wanna ride. It kills me to go on Vaca and not ride local trails. |

Bike Bling might rent out bikes. They are new and in Escondido. I czeched out their shop last weekend, good stuff.
