We worked on the Middle Sam Merrill Trail above Pasadena in March and then again in April. We have around 1/4 mile of unfinished brush work that we figured we could knock out in an evening Trail Crew session.
We will meet at 3:30 at the gate to the Mount Lowe fire road. We will drive up the road to the Cape of Good Hope. This is where the pavement turns to dirt. From here we will ride our bikes with a Bob trailer or two to the trail head. We will then ride down the Middle Merrill to where the trail work needs to be done. We will work on the trail for a couple of hours then ride out. If you can not meet at 3:30 ride in when you can. Even if you only come for an hour to help out that is okay! I will be there. If people want to they can of course ride sunset or LSM afterwards. It will be great to have the brushwork finished and the trail corridor opened up again.

We surveyed it today, on our way down the merrills. There's about a half-mile left to do, and the tread isn't in too bad shape, but there's lots of brushwork left.
If we're able to finish, we'll have completely opened up the Middle Merril in three trailwork days. I plan on bringing lights for the ride down Sunset.

Airgabe, are you double-booked? Might be just Hans and I out there this afternoon/evening.

That's not good! I know Hans changed the date, but I guess it only changes the thread, not the calendar entry. Not to worry, we're gonna do as much as we can then ride MM/Sunset, and El P extra credit for me....

Anyone clicking through from the home page will notice the date was wrong on the home page calendar... this happened yesterday. Seems like a bug in the calendar system.
We were able to clear about .35 miles of the trail with 5 people. Lots of brushwork, and one re-benched section. We worked until dark, but got a lot done. Still about a .15 mile section left, mostly brushwork.
