Exclamation Attention Grasshoppers.... and other riders

This is an STR ride... all are invited... it doesn't matter if you have a vintage bike or not... come, ride, meet new people... look at all the old bikes that have cobwebs all over them... the key word here is ENJOY! Not get hung up on whether a bike is truely a vintage bike in concouse condition or not. If this were true, we'd have to bring in experts... and publish a 128 page rule book... Not! (I'd rather spend the money on beer)

The purpose of this event is to celibrate our mtb heritage... and a reason to party!

Default Gene... a little help here...

When I updated this event, it deleted those that had signed up for the event... what happened to the list of people?

Don't know what you did. It should not have erased everyone's RSVP.

Since that photo was taken, I had the frame powdercoated, so now I'm left with a bunch of components that are not worthy of the frame. I can live with the most of the parts (minus the broken shifters), but I really don't want to slap that fork back on.

So, I'm stuck on what I should do about the fork. Since I'm trying to do this for as little $ as possible, I'm considering putting a rigid fork on there but, even then, I still need a cheap solution for front brakes.

Any ideas?

Do what I did last week. Just run without a front brake. It's only Fullerton. I couldn't get my cable right so I removed the brakes all together.

I'm in favor of the rigid fork option. Cheaper and a lot more fun for that bike.
Is that an 8 spd drivetrain? Are you still looking for shifters?
For brakes, it's either canti's or V's. It really depends on how much braking power you need/can live with. If this is a trail cruiser, I'd go with canti's. If you're going to be hammering the hills, I'd go V's.

When the RSVP gets fixed, we can all RSVP again.

Not sure if anyone likes it, but I will probably bring some beer to share. I hope I don't have left overs.

Well, I guess after finding out today that soda is BAD for you, that leaves only beer to drink ... I drink enough water on the bike!
