Nice! What year? Does it have chainstay mounted XC brake mounts?
In 1990 I had a Pinnacle, built up with what were -at the time- the best components one could buy. My current "vintage" bike project is building an exact double of it. Some of the components (WTB Roller-cam brakes, Bontrager 'Switchblade' fork, IRD stem & seatpost) are hard to find.

Oh yes...I have my vintage bike! Check out this bad boy!!!

Old skool AlpineStars frame with RockShox Quadra-10 fork! Campagnolo front wheel and hub; White Industries rear hub with rainbow titanium spokes. Answer Hyperlite bars, titanium stem. She weighs about 25 lbs...I will be converting her to SS tomorrow! So she should come in around 23.5 lbs.

Oh, and she only cost me $100.

I AM SO STOKED!!!!!

I think the oldest bike I have is the KHS SS (how old is that bike Sherry? 04/5?), but I have an old SHARE jersey--do I HAVE to wear it?

Call Chuck at Pacific Coast Cycles. He's located in Oceanside. (760)967-4900. He has the best inventory for WTB Roller Cams, as well as all of those other hard to find parts. Tell him Vince w/ the Wicked Fat Chance sent ya.

thanks much- it's about the only thing on the bike that is questionable at the moment. I've got to email c-dale with the serial number to find out how old it really is.

I'm not 100% sure it's a true BoE as it doesnt have a 24" rear wheel (which my dad has)

OMR: any awards for the oldest bike? I'm narrowing down the age of the c-dale and i might be a contenda!

There is a definite chance that there might be a prize awarded...

We're considering prizes for the oldest (proveable!) bike and jersey.

That's a tough one, OMR. How would one go about proving the age of their bike? Do the parts have to be period correct?

Example: I can prove the age of my Wicked by reading the serial number. I can corroborate the age with the part numbers on the drivetrain components. But none of that means diddly if you aren't familiar with the Fat City Cycles numbering system.

I have a 1985 Fat Chance that's 80% period correct. I also have an '89 Fat that's 100% correct.

How about a ballot box for everyone to write in their favorite bike while we're hanging out at the end of the ride?

This is a good idea... then we don't have to go through all the BS trying to figure out if the bike is technically period correct.

....of course, votes can always be bought with beer
