Maybe we should start from one of the parks instead of the courthouse?
Might make the after ride festivities a little easier?

I was thinking "Tailgate Partying"... something we haven't done yet.

And the reason we're posting this far in advance are several grasshoppers have said they need time to put their old bikes back together... or find something on Craig's List.

Default "Who wears short shorts?"

So does this mean there's gonna be a large group of you guys in cut-off jeans or tight pants (refer to the pic posted above), i.e. the STR gang in short-shorts????

If so, I may be in for some spectating action... LOL jk

Talking Found: one slighly yellowing jersey

While digging through my t-shirt draw (where in the heck do all these come from!!!) I found an old Bike Beat Team jersey. I was going to wear the Grafton jersey for this one but this one is older. Anybody remember Jay, Bill and Jeff at the Bike Beat?... or am I just getting too old?

I used to have a "100% white cotton T-shirt complements of miyata" printed on a said shirt until I finally tossed it 5 years ago. I think I got it from a factory rep back in the early 90's.

That's nothing... I had an authentic, signed Red Rider 1,000 shot BB gun with a real wooden stock ... my mom took that metal beauty away from me when I almost put my eye out...(think Christmas Story)... I've never been the same....

I was also digging through my jersey drawer and came upon my old Grafton jersey---I think its the oldest jersey I still own--and then there's that Bad to the Bone T-shirt from Bob Savage's old shop....wish I could find those fushia lycra shorts I used to ride in all the time!!

We will NEED cheesy 80's music in the parking lot. This is mandatory.

Found my old Troy Lee jersey that I raced with in 1992-1993 or so. Complete with some holes in the front from a face-plant. I wonder if I can squeeze into it still?

Fat guy in a little coat....OHH, RICHARD!!!

I've still got the three I use to race for him in. I'll be in pink shorts myself ....

Besides, I'm very secure in my manliness....

I remember the bike beat. Didn't they have some kind of Harley logo or something? The Bike Beat guys were cool. They'd drive to some of our shop rides in Temecula from time to time.

Anyone remember those Dan Hannebrink Bikes (sp) with the big ATV tires? I rode one once, it wasn't easy to steer at slow speeds but you could run over anything after you get rolling. I wish I could find one of those for this ride.

I still see Dan around Big Bear every once in a big Bear every once in a while. He was heavily into gravity bikes for a while... then moved onto the big wheels. I use to race against him... he was VERY intense and took it very seriously & was known to have cut the Snow summit course a few times during a race.... I don't understand that mentality.
