Trailhead Meet up with other socal mountain bikers to organize group rides.

SART 3.1, Sunday 5-4-08 8:30am start!
Calendar: Rides & Things
1x1clyde
G.I. Joe is There!!

05-04-2008
We will try this once again!
Sunday, May 4th at 8:30am!
Meet at Angelus Oaks turnout on the 38- just past the town on your left- and ready to ride at 8:30am.
Post Office extra credit loop, then down the singletrack to the road, cross that and up we go all the way to Southfork, eat lunch, refill and back down we go!
I will drop some H20 and cervezas at the campground so we can refill and eat lunch.

I've heard there are still some downed trees, etc but we are on "mountain" bikes so lets ride!
This is a no-drop ride but we will be going at a moderate pace so be ready to ride and smile!
Bring appropriate clothing and some grub for the ride and lunch.
Plan on about a 4-5 hour ride and lots-o-fun!

Here is the geoladders link to directions and the route:
http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=151

Any questions ask and I will see you there!

Just rode out there this last weekend. Trail is not in that bad of shape. There are some downed trees but they are all pretty visable. Might be able to make it but my parents might be coming into town.

Cheers,
Andy

its about 25 miles and most of the ride is above 4k ft. elevation so that is something to factor in as well.

so when you say meet at the 38 is that the same 38 that is called the trailhead on the geoladders link? Does that question make sense?

Rode there again yesterday. It was beautiful and we saw three different groups. We ran into a rider that said the higher trail from above the store had all the downed trees removed. We parked down Middle Control and started on the 2E03 (SART) trail-head. The trail is very loose in many sections from the winter. We rode to Southfork and turned around. The campground is still closed so there is nowhere to refill on water. Oz and I ended up riding to Barton flats to refill all the camelbacks as we were all low on H2O. Have fun out there if I can't make it.

Cheers,
Andy
