Default Vail Lake This Saturday 4-19-08

I plan on riding at Vail Lake tomorrow morning. Maybe around 8:30 - 9:00. My intent is to cover the trails I know plus a little exploring all at a leisurely pace.

Anyone like to join me?

Isn't racers and chasers at about the same time? Would we get in there way? I would like to ride though and its close to home.

Good point about "The Racers and Chasers" ... They start their race at 9:00. I checked their site but they don't publish the course so I can't be sure if we'd see them or not. I have no objections to pulling over to let some racers through.

I'm pretty sure they have a small to moderate turnout so we wouldn't be waiting for a butt ton of riders. I'll plan to ride @ 9:15 to give them a chance to get out on the trails, maybe we won't even see them.

How about we meet by the "Go Kart" track for again, a 9:15 start?

I think the ride should be about 10-12 miles and no more than 1-1/2 to 2 hours. How about 9:15 by the "Go Kart" track?

If you the Damn Hill climb at the start of your ride, then you will be out of racers way. The race course does not go up the hill. They stay down on the single tracks.

The course is nicely marked for each race.

Make sure you hit the new single track called Bridges. It is a new single track that goes to the left on the road as you head out to Marine Hill. Instead of going to Burning Calf, make the right towards Marine Hill, it is on your left about 100 ft.

Here is a map that shows roughly where the trail starts.

Have fun.

I will be racing.
