Parking at cooks is the way to go for this ride. The road part is brief. Harding is a little tougher than Maple but not by much. Harding to Joplin is is a stellar route.

I guess for those totally against shuttling we can just have our seperate groups and maybe we'll see each other up on Main Divide somewhere *
i agree w/fxrob...

I'll repost this since it was lost last night when the server went down

Pros to parking at Cook's and climbing Harding are:

1. much easier without shuttle, won't make the ride take all day long having to shuttle
2. we still get to ride the Luge at the end
3. we'll be back at our cars ready to eat at Cook's right at the end
4. it will be a new trail for a few of us

Cons.

1. longer/harder climb than MS (although road mileage will be about the same when you consider the 3 miles of pavement on MS)

Arrkelly, yeah let's plan a Chiquita loop soon.

I'd prefer Harding, if only because I’ve been up it just once. And thinking about it, staging at Cook's really makes the most sense.

If we can agree on that much, how about an 8:15am meet, 8:30am start?

That works for me. Looking forward to a new climb, and a new descent

i'm interested, but need an earlier start time. it took us at least 20 minutes to start last week, and i'm not counting the shuttle logistics.

how about 7:30am meet, 8am start time?

There will be no shuttle this time though, 8:30 is still too late to start riding? If we start @ 8:30 we should be back to the cars by 1ish at the latest. It really doesn't matter to me though, I'm up early always anyway.

For sure this ride wont be nearly as long as last weekends. I didnt get home till 5:30 and I live farely close.

Any start time is good for me... plan it, I'm there

I just ordered some Cytomax off of Jenson, so I'm good to go!

I'm going to have to bow out of this one gent's. I forgot I promised a STT/Old Camp/Luge loop with some other buds last week. Maybe we'll see you at Cooks after the ride since we are starting at 10:00. Any late risers are welcome to join us.

Ok guys looks like two options to me.
1st option : Those in for the loop meet at cooks corner, climb the road first to Harding and finish the whole loop with the luge, a must for this ride.

2nd option: Shuttlers meet at cooks and shuttle to Maple Springs.
This way we all meet at the same place and finish at the same place, nobody gets lost!

How about meeting at 8 A.M. Sunday morning? Some of us are coming from far away.

The loop milage is about 25 tough miles.
The shuttle milage is about 20 miles.
Elevation gain is around 3000.
