anyone going to this event from the Carlsbad area? Carpooling would be fun and environmentally friendly... hehehe. If you are going just pm me if you would want to make the trek together.

I think I might just join this ride. Is this map going from Rancho Santa Margarita to the location where you will be starting. I have never been there and would hate to end up in the wrong place.

Default Help with a flat tomorrow morning?

Would anyone be willing to help me out with a flat tommorrow before the ride?

I noticed I had a flat as I was loading my bike in my car this morning so I had no choice but to fix it during the course of my work day all by myself (never done it before) if I wanted to ride that afternoon, which I managed to do (thank goodness for the parktools website), ha. I was pretty proud of myself, it only took 45 minutes, LOL!

But then I got another flat during the course of my ride. Although I had already used up my spare tube, I made it back okay but I still have a flat, and my hypothesis as to what I did wrong is 1) I didn't fill the tube with enough air (too low psi) or 2) I didnt seat the bead properly.

So if anyone could show me the "proper" way to change a flat tommorrow morning I would really appreciate it! THANKS

We can make this the instructional portion of tomorrow's activities. I'll be there a few minutes early if you need some help.

I have ONE left haha... so I'll have one to fix the flat but then after that no spare one which is kinda sketchy since I don't usually like to ride without one! My rear tire is 26-2.1 (the flat one) and my front is 26-52/54 (2.24)...if anyone could bring an extra one, I'll reimburse you =)

THANKS again!

UZZI or Juan Solo SS? I want to test my Uzzi but it sounds like a great SS ride.
Who is riding FR bikes?= Slow climbing. Who is riding SS? = Fast climbing.

Well I am on the Heckler and I am slow on the climbs not sure I can blame it all on the bike though

Probably a better SS ride. There are a couple of jumps along the way but other than that it is pretty tame.
