Had an awesome tough ride today!!

Blackstar to Motorway 25.7miles 4,520ft elvevation

texlepomis, ocrider, Bob, Jeff and myself completed the ride

Goood conditions, good weather, no flats, a couple crashes and lots of pedaling. That about sums it up. This ride really told all of us where our bodies stand for the CC/VQ as its the first half of the race.

Heres a couple pics...

Matt crusing main divide on his borrowed stumpy

Lance finsing strong at the end of Blackstar climb

yess I fell in the little gully but Im ok

good ride and Part II will be next weekend with the second half the CC/VQ

PS: if anyone wants the full size pics of today let me know... theres also about 35more pictures that i took, hehe

Yeah guys, as usual a killer ride!

Thanks for posting those pics Kipp. I missed Jeff's wheelie...damn!

I hope we get the ones that Bob took too. He was like a sniper hidden alongside the mountain snapping shots of us!

Can't wait to see--and try?--your new ride ocrider!

So how long did it take to do this ride. We did the same ride on Sunday but left the parking lot at about 7am.........damn cold I must say. However at the bottom of the Motorway, we went left up Maple Springs to the end of the pavement.

I can now say that I have done the BLackstar/Motorway ride enough that I am now familiar with most of it. I know where I am at and how much more climbing there will be.

umm i dont know how long it took but it was a while cause it was a group... But the last time i did it it took about 2 hours and 10 minutes and i was still felt strong after that. Id like to start doing training rides with 2 of the major climbs.

The slow guy with the computer--that would be me--took about 2:45 to get to the top of motorway. To the cars at the corner of blackstar and silverado was ~3:20.
