What about a road ride--preferably one that passes some spots for urban-type fun (drops, stairs, etc.)? Could also do a bike rodeo: trackstand contest, longest wheelie, bike limbo ... just throwing a couple things out there. Bike rodeo DURING the beer tasting could be particularly interesting.

What about that cutoff-trackstanding-contest-thing Pacman (right?) was talking about? I forgot the actual name to it...

I think for all the beer that needs to be opened - my oversized bicycle chain link bottle opener will need to be 'de-virginized'. I've had this thing for about 25 years now and don't think I've ever used it. I know - what a shame, but its a collectors item that I'm sick of just looking at. Maiden voyage this Saturday!! Whats the sound we're gonna hear? PSSST-CHIK! Aren't Zima's twist-offs?

Sam:
This "beer tasting" thing of which you speak--will there be limitations on the volume of beer that the men are allowed to consume? I'm very worried about the potential consequences of excess indulgence. Please see the attached article. |

Not at all. If it doesn't rain anymore here in CH, then we have a great chance of getting to ride CHSP. THe ground hardly looks wet. It will probably dry out by noon tomorrow.
Say your prayers tonight kiddies. ![]()

I am watching the weather forecast and it is not looking good. I think it is too early to call it, but right now it is looking like we will cancel the ride and just go on with the beer tasting and party at our place at noon. I'll confirm later today.

Another option: Skyline to Beeks, then motor over to your casa for
. Advanced riders could descend Fall Zones; novices and intermediates could just go back down Skyline. Again, just throwing something out there. Of course, all this is dependent on the sky not opening up again today.

The single- and double-tracks that crisscross the road. They're known as the Fall Zones in Randy Vogel's trail book. I've never been clear on whether Troy Lee = Fall Zones, or Troy Lee = Diablo (the not-so-kosher trail that drops off to the right of Skyline about a quarter mile before you reach the entrance to Upper Fall Zone).
