Turnbull Canyon, Saturday, January 7th, 2006

Who: *All XC MTB'ers are welcome

What: *Fun XC ride all over Turnbull Canyon, 14 mile - 24+ mile options

When: *Saturday, January 7th, 2006 @ 8 am

Where: *Meet at the Beverly Blvd./Turnbull Canyon Rd. trailhead at *8 am.

**** be advised, this will be a ride with a lot of climbing in it, great for those training in the coming XC events. plenty of climbing options or bailout points for those that don't want to do the whole thing or all the climbing.

**** make sure you bring the equipment to maintain a good ride (tools, spare parts, nutrition and water)

I may be up for that as well. How early would be have to leave SJC to get there in time? Maybe 6:45ish?

i will be there that day (maybe) but not at that time...one of my buddies from college wants to get back into mtbing so im gonna take him out near where he lives, which is in whittier, so i just gotta get him out on the bike for a short ride to get him back into things

i want to go -- george, u want to carpool from my house?

Great Turnout Gentlemen!! * *

We had Hector, Tito, Mark (we met up with him up on the ridge), Jose, Carlos, Aldo (LTNS), and of course George!! ; plus myself. *2 other guys tagged along for the initial climb then went their separate ways. *

I also have to mention Tinker Juarez made his typical Turnbull Canyon Cameo (him flying down the road on his road bike; I've seen him go down down the road many, many times)

Even though we ended up finishing the ride ( ~20 miles ) with 4 guys (Mark, Carlos, Jose & myself) it was great riding with all.

What we did (~20 miles):
1. *Fireroad climb to the water tower, including the 3 bitches singletrack climb
2. *7th Ave. Loop
3. *3 Bitches downhill
4. *Friends St. Singletrack Figure 8 Loop ( Killer Fireroad climb back up )
5. *Sycamore Canyon / Nike Site Loop (crazy switchbacks And killer paved climb)
6. *Ridgeline Descent (from top water tower to bottom water tower)
7. Fireroad back to the trailhead

BTW, great job on the climbs guys!!
