In regards to the silly banter going back and forth in this thread. All of you stop, now! You sound dumb.

I love EL P any which way.... climbing or descending. It's all about having two wheels and dirt under you....and respecting all those that enjoy the same

I have no problem with xc'ers or hikers or equstrians or dh'ers. The only problem I have is with 1080p. This is not the first thread he's tried to bad mouth us and is just an internet bully. I'm far more confrontaional on the internet than in real life, but strobelite is the exact opposite and can bet this argument would not be limited to childish jokes about fat girls and maxi pads. 1080p has some kind of chip on his shoulder and it's really starting to get to Devin and I.

Im not going to argue this one. However, not all people enjoy riding uphill. Its an acquired taste. Just because you can climp up it and ride down, doesnt mean everyone can. Your one Bad@ss congrats. The thing that really bugs me, is your spiel on time managment. Devin is perfectly aware of how he does thing, and he does have time managment, obviously, if he planned this ride, and allowed himself an hour and a half to ride. Just because he decides to start a job, and finish and clean all his mess up, dont tell him he should be leaving stuff out. Im not sure, but to me it sounds liike your bagging on him because he likes to complete something. So your telling me if you were to build a bike, tou would put the wheels, handlebars etc on the bike, then when your six pack is done, and you dont have a beer left over to put the brakes on and set them up, your going to call it a "convenient" time to stop, and ride?

This forum is for a community of people that like to ride bikes, wether they pedal up and down the mountain, or shuttle up and ride down. So why cant we all get along?

WTH
that may have been a joke, but you could have at leat put a after. Without it, it sounds kinda rude

BFlo, to be fair, I do wear lycra while riding my mountain bike... Which is what said poster was bagging on.... Cast not the first stone... don't be judgemental.

For the record, I've never been whacked, almost run over, or had rude behavior to me anywhere on any trail here in California, with the exception of the DH crew with a damn heavy bike, armour, padding, and a full face helmet. But those were just the equipment parts, I blame it solely on the operator. The facts are it's happened to me twice, two different riders, two different locations, but the equipment and protection was the same....

I've formed an opinion of riders that use this equipment... fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me... Not all downhillers are bad, but there are a few bad apples that are screwing it up for ALL OF YOU... I don't like being threatened or assaulted on any trail, and the fact remains that downhillers ride fast, very fast, and sometimes too fast to be in control at all times. That's when innocent people get hurt, and that's where I say it's gone over the line, and feel you should ride without pads, and in control... so you'll feel it when you make the mistakes, and learn from your mistakes.

Sorry, I forget the smiley... you're !!!

I would never drink beer assembling or disassembling anything.... there's a reason we call beer "slow me downs" in the trades.

Remember, it's a public board, it's not personal.... you wanna make fun of what I wear while riding a mountain bike, you open the flood gates and make it fair game for me to respond or defend my position, which is exactly what the OP did. They encouraged me to defend my position.

Rant off... I gotta attend to my manly bike failures and wounds after eating crap on Viper today without wearing pads or full helmet.

No chip, no offense, I don't take the internet personally. Nor should you.

I don't take people I'll never meet seriously, but this is a socal specific forum where people arrange rides and WILL meet eachother.
This is the second time that you have bad mouthed us in this thread. I don't wear pads on el prieto cause I want to, my mom makes me. Devin wears a half shell and no pads where I wear a half shell with knee pads. It wouldn't suprise me if you are even faster and in less control than we are on the trails. I've only been riding seriously for like a year and Devin recently broke his sternum (or something like that) and has been intimidated to go nearly as fast or as big as he used to.
Wanna avoid an argument? My suggestion is to not start one.
Enjoy falling and getting cut. Hasn't happened to me on el prieto, but if it does I'll be glad I had the pads on and looked like I **** fat girls.

you know what?

we are all being a bunch of pansies right now.

put up or shut up.

and i stop for hikers, yell to the others in the group, tell them how many are riding behind me, and thank them and tell them to enjoy their hike.

also, for the record, i did ride xc- looked for tech, steep climbs.
i am still nervous about my chest, and outta shape for most climbs, but i ride.

case closed.

Amen to that Steve!

I am sitting here bummed that I cannot join you and all the gang up at Chilao tomorrow AM. That's my favorite area to ride in too.
My Curnutt is currently over at FOES getting pampered right now. So unfortunately, I am shockless. I'll have to live vicariously through you and your videos.
Have fun and be careful out there. I hope to see you guys on the trail real soon. In the interim, look for me on the road.

I refuse to respond to troll bait, or argumentative, name calling grade school behavior.

I'm outta here.

You tell them to enjoy their hike? What if they dont want to enjoy their hike huh? Geez have some consideration for their feelings. I just cook them a nice breakfast sandwich on the side of the trail and let it go at that. I guess I should add a somewhat funny gif at this point....
