USA CYCLING CALIFORNIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
September 20-21, 2008
Los Olivos, CA
USA Cycling Championship

This event represents USA Cycling’s one day state championship race. Athletes who whin their race are
recognized by USA Cycling as the official State Champion.

Location: Los Olivos, CA; Sit of the 2008 NMBS Race

Directions
Take 101 North; exit Hwy 154; go Right at the top of the ramp and make an immediate left on Zaca Station
Road. The venue is about a mile up the road on your right.

Camping: Plentiful and free at this event; no hook ups available; tents are welcome.

Cross-country Course Description
This 11.5 mile loop with it’s 1500 feet of climbing is both challenging and fun. Set on a working cattle ranch,
the predominately single track course, winds up and over numerous rolling hills, dotted with beautiful
California Black Oaks.

Laps will vary from 3 for Pro/Semi Pro and most experts; sports will do 2 laps and beginners will do 1 lap.

Super D: Super fast and fun single track

Downhill
The crews from Stump Grinder Productions have been adding a number of features to the downhill course. It
is a bit short but all racers will do two runs with winners determined by a combined 2-run total.

Shuttles will be used to get racers to the top. Shuttle fee $10.

Slalom
This course was built by Landon Taylor. Landon was the builder of the Deer Valley National and Brian Head
National courses.

The course features rollers, berm turns, and table tops. Great old school slalom racing; no over the top
features.
