I'm a FUN-GI!

If it gets too hot, mark my words...
I WILL be stopping in between laps and jumping in the pool, then back on the bike! ![]()

Allison aren't you running duo with Steph? Riding together would be nice, but it's tough to make work on race day.

I just threw 8 laps out there as a goal. Realistically, I'd just like to do better than what I did last time (5 in 8 hours). I rode with cramps for 3 of those laps, so if I can keep the cramp monster at bay and ride for the entire 12 hours, 6 or 7 (or even 8 ) laps should be possible.

I'd be happy with 7, but I'd like to get 8. It'd be more mileage in a day than I've ever done, either way (on road or off). 8 would be almost 90 miles, and about 12,400ft of climbing ![]() |

You can already crank out pretty fast times so it will be a matter of moderation!

I have been having problems making the laps take longer than like an hour and 10. But, I guess when you take into the breaks in between laps it'll easy be 1:15+. I know later laps will be longer, cause I guarantee walking will be the only way up a couple pitches. I'm gonna shoot for 4-6 laps on the 7th. May be late for some, but it's all I've got ![]() |

If your plan is 8 laps you will need to take more than a 5 min break......Everyone does, we'll except some of the pro's....Hour out 30(or whatever) in, hour out, etc, it's just part of the SOLO game.. It's hard to look at solo laps times and get *real* results on the course, because they don't take your time in into account, Solo lap times include breaks where as teams, one person goes out as one comes in, making it much easier to see the *real* times..I'm very excited you made the decision to go SOLO ![]()

12hr Temecula isn't about speed for me. It's a seige war to see how long I can stay on the bike. Crossing fingers it's not an 8hrs of temecula this time.

Can anyone confirm how tough it is for solo's to get a spot? Justin is considering racing also, so it'd be really nice to have stuff close by without having to veer off course too far? |

With the change of venue, I have no idea where he will do it - during the 24hrs of Granny Gear I think everyone just used their campsites, however being this is only 8 hrs and some people don't camp, I am sure Jason will have a spot for Solo's to pit (he usually does). In the past when we have not camped we have either gone out Friday and Neil would pre-ride once and also leave an ez-up to stake our spot for Sat or drive up very early Sat am to get a good one. During the GG race's the course runs on the grass right next to the road to the pools, If that is where Jason also runs the course there will be spaces to pit. I hope this helps.....(a little bit)

Did you guys get the memo? Free beer...
We are sad to not be having the R&R Catering guys out with us for this race. But we have picked up some great venders to help fill the bill. "Juice It Up" will out there making smoothies, Wetzel pretzels will be out also, plus Vail Lake resort will have the Deli and grocery store open all day long. And just as a thank you for you the racers I have gone out and bought a couple of kegs of beer for after the race. FREE BEER FOR ALL! |
