The race venue has changed...so the answer is NO they won't be in the same spot.

Jason has moved the Start/finish down to the pools

This is from an email he sent out a few days ago - the Blue is what he says about team pits.

There have been a few changes for the upcoming race. The venue has been changed to a new spot at Vail Lake. It isn’t far from the old venue as a matter of fact less than ¼ mile away, Easily within walking distance from the old venue. The new spot is at the pool area near the Huck Finn pond. The new spot is much nicer. We have the pools to cool down in and green grass is all around. So the dust will be at a minimum at the venue start finish area. We have hot showers available and great camping in the 100 year old oaks. The new venue is beautiful.

When you and your team gets to the venue area please look for signs to see where team pit areas are. There is a lot of space out there. But please be aware of the racers and the path of the course. For any issues please see Jason Ranoa for directions.

Between the pools and the campground is a large grassy area, during Granny Gear races the course runs along the grass..I have a feeling this garssy area is going to be where the teams pit. Plenty of room.

Is it bad that I am nervous. It will be a first solo race, my first time I am riding Vail Lake, And my right thigh has been sore for the past few days. I think about Saturday and I get a few butterflies in my tummy. At the same time I am excited.

Nerves are good, but don't let it freak you out.

The beginning is fast and furious as Jason takes everyone out on the quick parade lap around camp. This stretches out the field. Then, the ride out along the lake is fast and curvy and gets your legs good and warmed up for what is to come...

When you make that hard left at the Dam and look up to where you gotta climb, the butterflies will be long gone, and all you will hear is your heart pumping in your ears and the sound of all the people passing you (no, wait, that's what I hear... maybe you will be passing instead of being passed on the Dam Climb...).

Before you know it you will be out there all alone. That's when it is at its finest: when it's just you and the sun and the climbing and the descending.

Set your own pace. Race your own race. If you wanna win, then you gotta go faster than the others (it really is that simple). All I know is it is a loooong day, and the miles they come slowly, but they do come (your legs will let you know this).

It looks to be warm, but not as smokin' as it was last year (107F all freakin' day).
