CHILAO figure 8 loop:

Meet on hwy. 2/Angeles Crest Hwy. and 210 freeway @ 9:30am or @ Charlton Flats @ 10-10:15am. Start riding by 10:30am sharp. Cross the road, short-up, down, cross the road into Chilao, up, down, up up up up up grunt up the last part up to Hyler, lovely DOWN to horse flats, another lovely down Silver Moc., cross road, up, grunt, get over big tree root up, down to Chilao, down Silver Moc. up up, grunt up cardiac hill. Consider going up to Mt. Vetter or back to cars. Depends on time and group choice.

Ride pace will be very mellow and fun. If you're a hammer head or are in a huge hurry, this might not be the best ride for you. At least not with me.

Sorry gang, to accommodate our riding buddy and resident Queen, we changed the ride to Tuesday. Ride start time can be flexible. Hope it works just the same for those considering going.

This look's interesting. I've never ridden that area either, and I'm on vacation next week.
What's the milage on this ride? I'm headed to Arizona on Wenesday, and I'd hate to blow myself up the day before.

Put me down as a maybe.

Darin, this is a really great ride and Joe will take care of you. It's not overly difficult but has a lot of the stuff you'd like. You'll still have lots left in the tank for the next day as Joe isn't a hammermead. I just wish I could go.

A Hammer head, I'm definitely not! Davidb and Speckledtrout, on the other hand, love to flog!

Yeah, Darin, what PF said. Beautiful place with some fun riding. Nothing too technical at all. Just has a whole different feel to it. It's at altitude (about 5K+) so the lungs get a little tested. If we complete the whole loop, it's about 22 miles but we're gonna play that by ear. Our pace is slow and very laid back. You'll be plenty fresh for the next day. C'mon on up!

Maxwell, you so do not have to worry about us or this ride wearing you out. Normally i make Joe and David stop for me along the way and I'll take a quick nap then we'll head back out.

oh brother...kids!

hwy. 2 = angeles crest hwy. when u exit from the 210 on Angeles Crest Hwy., go north (that's a right for you, Dave) & park. that's where we'll meet.

if we finish the whole loop, I think it's around 3000 feet. 4-5 hrs. at a very mellow pace.
